In a big development, the Bengaluru police force busted a criminal racket related to the IPL 2026 season. The illegal activities were reportedly held at RCB’s home ground, which is the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The IPL 2026 season kicked off on March 28 and has picked up a great pace since then. RCB, the defending champions, have won both their games so far and are seated second on the points table.
RCB’s Chinnaswamy Stadium again lands in controversy
However, off the field, things are not going well for RCB’s home ground, the Chinnaswamy Stadium, situated in Bengaluru. According to state police, a big black market ticket sale has been busted.
During the IPL 2026 clash between RCB and CSK, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) conducted a targeted raid on black ticketing at Chinnaswamy. The police found 28 match tickets, 8 mobile phones, and WhatsApp screenshot printouts of illegal sales.
The officials quickly took action and arrested 11 people while registering 7 cases. Not only that, but the police also seized ₹4.53 lakh from the raid.
The raids were carried out by two police stations, Cubbon Park and Chamarajapet. Both raids combined led to the arrests of 11 accused and also the seizure of digital transaction evidence.
That being said, Bengaluru police revealed that this is just a preliminary report. A full investigation is still underway to figure out if the racket is limited to these people or its roots go deeper.

Past controversy around Chinnaswamy Stadium
This isn’t the first time the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru has landed in controversy. Last year, a stampede broke out outside the venue during RCB’s IPL 2025 title win celebration due to overcrowding and poor management.
11 fans lost their lives while a lot of people were left injured. After criminal proceedings, the stadium was declared unsafe and unsuitable for large-scale events.
However, KSCA worked day and night behind the scenes to ensure the Chinnaswamy Stadium didn't lose its rights to host IPL games.
Hence, just days before the beginning of the IPL 2026 season, the BCCI allowed Chinnaswamy Stadium to host a limited number of games for RCB.
RCB trash CSK in a one-sided contest
Meanwhile, RCB recently set the Chinnaswamy Stadium stage on fire in a recent IPL 2026 clash against CSK. Batting first, RCB were 151/3 after 15 overs.
That’s when the real carnage began. Tim David and Rajat Patidar hammered close to 100 runs in the last 5 overs to guide RCB to a monstrous total of 250 runs.
CSK’s death bowling execution was poor to say the least. Jamie Overton was targeted brutally as David struck him for 30 runs in the 19th over alone.
The chase, meanwhile, never got going for CSK. They lost Sanju Samson, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ayush Mhatre on single-digit scores. Sarfaraz Khan and Prashant Veer showed some courage, scoring 50 and 43, respectively.
However, CSK fell short by 43 runs to endure their third straight defeat of the season.
