Marine Drive police station was called in to investigate the case, and the police officials found nothing suspicious during the postmortem examination, but the case will be treated as unnatural till further investigation. The cause of death is yet to be confirmed.

"British citizen Jan William Langford (76), was found unconscious in hotel trident on the morning of 30th March. The body was taken to Bombay hospital, where he was declared dead. Post-Mortem has been done. Nothing suspicious found as of now. A case of unnatural death has been registered at the Marine Drive police station and further enquiry is underway," Mumbai Police said as quoted by ANI.

MI vs KKR, last assignment for Jan William Langford

Jan William Langford worked in the IPL 2026 match between the Mumbai Indians and the Kolkata Knight Riders, played in Mumbai last Sunday. It was the first game of the season for the two IPL teams.

Bowling first, MI had a poor day as the three-time champions posted a massive total of 220/4, with local boys Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi scoring their respective half-centuries. Even Mumbaikars dispatched MI in all corners; another local boy, Shardul Thakur, had a good day, returning with three wickets on his MI debut.

Chasing the total down, Rohit Sharma (78) and Ryan Rickelton (81) had a gigantic opening stand of 148 runs between them, before Mumbai got over the line with six wickets remaining in 19.1 overs.

Nevertheless, there has been no official statement by the BCCI or IPL committee on Jan William Langford’s unfortunate demise.
