In a significant development, the latest ICC Test Rankings have been released on August 19. England batter Harry Brook has reclaimed the No. 1 position in the latest ICC Test Player Rankings and has dethroned Australia’s Travis Head.
Harry Brook is back at the top of the Test batting rankings for the fourth time in his career with 852 points. He first reached No. 1 in December 2024 and has now returned to the position after Travis Head failed to make a major impact in the opening match against Bangladesh.
England's Joe Root and Australia's Steve Smith have also moved ahead of Travis Head.
Why Harry Brook Moved Ahead Of Travis Head In ICC Test Player Rankings?
Australia's star batter Travis Head slipped to the fourth position in the latest ICC Test player rankings with 819 points. He recently played in the Bangladesh tour of Australia 2026 and managed just 39 runs in two innings at a strike rate of 52.70 and an average of 19.50.
Harry Brook last featured against New Zealand in a three-match Test series in June. He played in 6 innings and made 217 runs at an average of 38.17 and a strike rate of 86.80.
Brook moved ahead of Head because the Australian opener failed to make any significant impact with the bat against Bangladesh.
