In a significant development, a Gujarat Titans player have recently left franchise cricket and joined England for the County Championship on August 19.
The development comes at a time when several franchise leagues are being played, while Indian players are also making full use of the opportunity in English county cricket.
Earlier, Jaydev Unadkat joined county cricket, while Yuzvendra Chahal is also representing Nottinghamshire and Rahul Chahar was part of Surrey’s squad. Kuldeep Yadav also featured for Yorkshire in the One-Day Cup, while Manav Suthar played for Warwickshire earlier.
R. Sai Kishore joins Gloucestershire For 6 Matches; Set To Miss TNPL 2026
It is important to mention that Gujarat Titans player Sai Kishore has recently joined England’s County Championship. India and domestic star has joined Gloucestershire for the final six matches of the County Championship Division Two season.
With him joining the County, it means he will miss the rest of the ongoing Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2026 campaign.
Gloucestershire have confirmed Sai Kishore’s arrival for the remaining six matches of their Division Two campaign.
Gloucestershire head coach Jon Lewis welcomed the Indian spinner and believes the conditions in England at this stage of the summer could suit him.
“The conditions at this time of year are often very conducive to spin bowling, so we’re hopeful Sai can make a significant contribution and have a really positive impact on the team,” said Gloucestershire head coach Jon Lewis on his signing.

It is vital to note that Gloucestershire have had a difficult campaign so far. The side currently sits at the bottom of the Division Two table, having recorded only one victory from eight matches.
Has Sai Kishore Played In English Conditions Before?
For Sai Kishore, the Gloucestershire stint will provide another opportunity to gain experience in English conditions. The left-arm spinner had previously played four matches for Surrey last year in July.
In the four matches he has played with the ball, he scalped 11 wickets at an economy rate of 2.39 and a bowling average of 24.50. With the bat, he played in 2 innings and made 24 runs at a strike rate of 80.00 and an average of 12.00.

The fact is that Sai Kishore’s departure is a significant setback for iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans. Apart from being one of their crucial bowlers, he was also leading the team as captain during the TNPL 2026.
Now that he is not available, the team will need to appoint a new captain for the rest of the tournament.
Sai Kishore played five matches in TNPL 2026 and picked up six wickets at an economy rate of 7.21 and also contributed 49 runs with the bat.
