Akash Singh explains the real story behind viral celebration
After the LSG vs CSK match, Akash Singh finally revealed the reason behind his now-famous celebrati
Speaking during a mid-innings interaction with broadcasters, he clarified that the note was simply a motivational tool that helped him stay mentally strong during high-pressure T20 games.
The message on the paper read- "Akki on fire - Akash knows how to take wickets in T20 game."

According to the LSG pacer, there was no hidden controversy or emotional backstory attached to the note. Instead, it was a reminder to trust his preparation and abilities.
“I know I express myself well, and people tell me that too. But honestly, it’s about the environment you create around yourself. I spend time understanding how champions think and how champions work hard,” Akash told the broadcasters.
“My belief has always been simple - if your work ethic and mindset are strong, only then can you dominate. I think it motivates me. There’s no deeper story behind it. On that note, I had written things like ‘Akki knows how to take wickets in T20 cricket,” he said.
“It just motivates me during the game. Sometimes these things work, sometimes they don’t, but if something helps me stay motivated and helps me perform better, then I’m willing to do it. That’s what matters most to me,” Akash added.
He added that if small things like self-written motivational notes help him perform better under pressure, he is happy to continue using them.
Paper 'Note Celebration' gaining attention in IPL
Akash Singh's celebration may have gone viral, but he is not the first IPL player to use a paper-note message during a match.
The trend first gained massive attention during IPL 2025 when SRH batter Abhishek Sharma celebrated his century against Punjab Kings by revealing a note that read, "This one is for Orange Army."
In the ongoing IPL 2026, MI pacer Raghu Sharma also pulled out a note after taking his maiden IPL wicket against LSG earlier this season.
Even CSK batter Urvil Patel joined the trend after smashing a record-breaking 13-ball half-century against LSG. His note carried an emotional message dedicated to his father.
