The LSG vs CSK IPL 2026 match had utmost importance for the Chennai Super Kings side, as the franchise has a golden chance to displace the Punjab Kings from the top-four spot. LSG have blown hot and cold throughout the tournament, and the Lucknow-based franchise was aiming to spoil CSK’s party.
LSG captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and he had no hesitation in electing to bowl first. CSK’s opening pair of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sanju Samson were the key wickets up front, and someone from the LSG side needed to take the responsibility to take the early wicket.
That responsibility was taken by promising pacer, Akash Singh, who broke CSK’s backbone with the early wickets of captain Gaikwad, and Sanju Samson, and brought out a special wicket celebration as well.
Akash Singh brings out 'Parchi celebration to mock CSK openers
Gaikwad started on an aggressive note as he played some delightful stroke and struck a couple of boundaries.
However, Akash Singh decided to turn things around as he bowled a short of a length ball and Gaikwad chipped it straight to Nicholas Pooran at mid-on. After the wicket, Akash Singh had an animated celebration as he removed a chit from his pocket to mock the batter.
The bowler had a special message written on the chit: #Akki on fire- Akash knows how to take wickets in T20 game.
This was not the end, as Akash Singh taunted CSK’s other opener, Samson, with the same celebration after taking his wicket, and pushing the Super Kings on the back foot.
Interestingly, Akash Singh was in action for the third time as he dismissed the dangerous Urvil Patel, and guess what, he did the same celebration to send the CSK batter back in the hut in the crucial IPL match.
Not the first time Akash Singh has mocked a player
This is not the first time the LSG speedster has mocked a fellow teammate/opposition. In last season’s IPL game between LSG, and GT, the fast bowler mimicked his teammate, Digvesh Rathi, and brought out his notebook celebration.
Notably, Digvesh was banned for one game due to his tussle with Abhishek Sharma in the previous match, but Akash made sure no one missed Digvesh Rathi as he did his trademark notebook celebration after dismissing Jos Buttler.

List of all IPL players to do 'Parchi celebration'
The celebration was made famous by SRH opener Abhishek Sharma, when he brought out the chit after smashing a century against the Punjab Kings, last season. He smashed a 40-ball hundred, and did the celebration that became famous after that.
In IPL 2026, three players have done the same celebration, with MI player Raghu Sharma starting the trend, followed by CSK’s Urvil Patel, who did it after smashing a 13-ball fifty vs LSG.
The mantle was carried forward by LSG pacer, Akash, who did it thrice after dismissing Gaikwad, Samson, and Urvil Patel.
