In the ongoing IPL 2026 match between Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants, MI spinner Raghu Sharma hogged the headlines for his celebration. Notably, LSG, batting first, got off to a blistering start but lost their way in the middle-order.
LSG at one point were 123/1 after 8 overs. It seemed that they would shatter all records today. However, Corbin Bosch and spinners brought MI back into the game and took four wickets for next 41 runs.
Raghu Sharma Picks Up Maiden IPL wicket
Corbin Bosch picked up a couple of wickets to put the breaks on the scoring rate. Further, Will Jacks got the crucial wicket of Rishabh Pant. The highlight was Raghu Sharma, the 33-year-old leggie, who picked up his maiden IPL wicket.
Notably, on the first ball of the 13th over, Raghu Sharma got rid of LSG debutant Akshat Raghuwanshi and took the catch off his own bowling to rattle the Rishabh Pant-led side. It was his maiden wicket in the league and marked the milestone in a special way.
Raghu Sharma Copies Abhishek Sharma’s Celebration
Interestingly, Raghu, who is marking his 2nd appearance, copied Abhishek Sharma’s celebration and pulled out a slip out of his pocket. Notably, he displayed a special message to the fans, and the entire MI squad surrounded him.
MI’s stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav was also surprised and looked at the note to read the message. The details of the message were revealed by Deepak Chahar who took the slip and showed it to the camera.

Raghu Sharma has a tough journey as the 33-year-old found no interest from any of the teams in his 20s. Thus, it has been a long struggle and the right-arm leggie remembered those days and thanked god in his special message.
"Radhe Radhe, A very painful 15 years by divine Mercy of Gurudev ended today. Thanks Mumbai Indians (Blue and Gold) for giving me this opportunity. Ever Greatful. JAI SRI RAM," was the message on the slip as revealed by Deepak Chahar to the camera.

When Did Abhishek Sharma Pull The Iconic Celebration?
In IPL 2025, Sunrisers Hyderabad weren't having a great IPL season. Abhishek Sharma too wasn't in best of touches but the southpaw found his form back against Punjab Kings.
