2024 T20 World Cup, 2025 Champions Trophy, 2018 and 2023 Asia Cup-winning captain Rohit Sharma completed 19 years since making his international debut in June 2007.

What makes the 39-year-old’s professional journey is the fact that Rohit belonged to a rare bunch of players who were deemed to become future stars as soon as they came into the limelight.

Rohit made his India debut on the back of his performances for his state team, Mumbai, back in 2006. Within a year, Rohit burst onto the India ODI scene and played a crucial role in the T20 World Cup triumph in 2007.

Rohit Sharma All Centuries

Rohit Sharma made his ODI and T20I debuts in 2007, and in his very first year in international cricket, he helped India win the T20 World Cup. The former Indian captain came in as a young talent from Mumbai, but at this point in his career, he is fondly referred to as the ‘HITMAN’.

So far in his career, Rohit has scored 50 international centuries across all formats of cricket along with 2 IPL hundreds. His impressive tally includes 33 centuries in One Day Internationals (ODIs), 12 in Test matches, and 5 in Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).

Scoring a century is one of the greatest achievements for a batter. The intensity and reward after recording a ton for their team are immense for every player, and more so in the World Cup, one of the most prestigious cricket tournaments at the global stage.

Given the increased pressure and the high-level opposition, achieving this feat is indeed wondrous. But some batters have managed to score not one, but multiple centuries in the World Cup.

Notably, having scored 7 centuries in the coveted tournament, Rohit Sharma is at the top of the list for most hundreds in ODI World Cups. Rohit is one of India's greatest ever white ball players and has been among the top runs scorers for India across formats. Let's look at his career stats below:

Rohit Sharma Centuries in Test Cricket

Rohit Sharma made a memorable Test debut in 2013 against the West Indies, scoring a magnificent 177, then followed it with another century in his second match.

However, finding consistent footing in the middle order was a challenge for him as he couldn't perform and was dropped from the Test team. However, his Test career took off spectacularly when he was elevated to the opening position in October 2019.

He retired from Test cricket in May 2025. He finished with 67 matches, scoring 4,301 runs at an average of 40.57, with 12 centuries and 18 half-centuries. Known as a masterful opener in the latter half of his career, he uniquely scored all 12 of his Test hundreds in matches that India won.

Rohit Sharma Centuries in ODI Cricket

Rohit played his maiden ODI for India on June 23, 2007. At present, he stands as the solitary player to score three 200+ scores in the format, including an astonishing world record of 264 against Sri Lanka, the highest individual score in the 50-over format.

Notably, Sharma was asked to open in ODIs in 2013 by the then India captain MS Dhoni, a move that unlocked his potential and transformed him into one of the most destructive and consistent batters in white-ball history.

His ODI career is recognised for his ability to build long innings, often converting a 50 into a massive 150+ score, which has made him a nightmare for bowling attacks worldwide. He holds the record for the most centuries at a single ODI World Cup, scoring five during the 2019 tournament.

Rohit Sharma Centuries in T20I Cricket

Soon after receiving his first-ever ODI cap, Rohit Sharma made his T20I debut on September 19, 2007. Very early in his career, he made his presence known by playing an attacking brand of cricket.

At the twilight of his career, Sharma scored 121 not out against Afghanistan at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on January 17, 2024, and became the first batter to score five T20I centuries and led India to a thrilling victory in the second Super Over.

Rohit, despite calling curtains on his T20I career, shares the most centuries in T20 internationals with Glenn Maxwell, with 5 centuries each.
