For the first time in its history, the Lord’s Cricket Ground finally hosted a women’s Test. The IND-W vs ENG-W One-off Test took place more than 50 years after the first women’s match of any kind at the renowned London venue and 142 years since staging its first men’s Test match.

Notably, after a humiliating exit from the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, a dejected India Women entered the One-off Test against England, aiming to etch their names in the storybooks, and did so.

Harmanpreet Kaur-led India defeated England by 270 runs to win the first-ever women’s Test match held at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground.

IND-W vs ENG-W One Off Test: All major records shattered by India Women in historic Lord's Test

1) Maiden Test victory at Lord’s Cricket Ground

July 13, 2026, will indeed go down as one of the most remarkable moments in India women’s cricket history. Defeating England by a massive 270 runs, India women became the first team to win a Test at legendary Lord’s Cricket Ground.

India posted 285 in their first innings and declared their second innings at 341 for 7. England's first innings was restricted to 170, granting India a substantial 115-run lead.

The Indian bowling attack then dismantled the English batting order across both innings, making quick work of the remaining wickets on Day 4 to secure the win.

2) Yastika Bhatia - First Women’s centurion at Lord’s

India’s wicket-keeper batter Yastika Bhatia, on July 12, 2026, etched her name into women's cricket folklore as she became the first-ever woman to score a Test century at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground. She achieved the feat during the third day of the one-off Test between England and India.

The left-handed batter produced a composed and determined innings, reaching the three-figure mark in 145 deliveries. Her knock was laced with 12 boundaries, not only marking her maiden Test century but also standing as the highest score of her red-ball career.

3) Kranti Gaud - First woman to take a fifer at Lord’s

22-year-old Indian pacer Kranti Gaud made history in the historic IND-W vs ENG-W One-off Test at Lord’s. She became the first woman to take a five-wicket haul at the ground. During England’s first innings, she recorded figures of 5/37, cementing her place on the iconic Lord’s Honours Board.

Interestingly, just a year ago, Kranti wasn’t even in India’s plans for the national set-up. Her name didn’t feature in the original long list of 30 players asked to submit their passports for the UK visa.

However, she impressed the management with an extraordinary performance in the national squad at the Bengaluru training camp, earning a belated call-up.

Gaud wasn't part of the ODI squad for the tri-series in Sri Lanka until an injury forced seam-bowling allrounder Kashvee Gautam out. Goud debuted in the final, where she ended with 0 for 22 in five overs.

Fast-forward to July 2026, and Kranti has etched her name into history at one of cricket's most hallowed turfs. She is the first woman to have her name imprinted on the Test honours board at Lord's - a distinction that has eluded some of India's greatest, including Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli.

4) 15,243 - Highest single-day attendance at a Women’s Test match

The Day 2 of the IND-W vs ENG-W Test at Lord’s witnessed the world record attendance for a single day at a women’s Test match, the crowd figure of 15,243 beating the previous best of 11,918 at Melbourne for the Women’s Ashes in 2025.

It is a clear sign of how times are changing for women’s cricket, especially since the Indian women marked a watershed moment in their history by winning their maiden ICC trophy in 2025.

5) Yastika Bhatia’s 113 - Highest score in the third/fourth innings of a Women's Test for India

India No. 3 batter Yastika Bhatia’s memorable knock of 113 off 158 balls not only became the first in history at Lord’s but also the highest score by an Indian woman in the third or fourth innings of a Test match.

Before Bhatia, the record was held by Sandhya Agarwal. The 98 runs scored by the former Indian batter against New Zealand in Lucknow in 1985 stood as the highest score by an Indian woman in the third or fourth innings of a Test match until Yastika Bhatia recently surpassed it.
