Gujarat Titans have consistently leaned on their overseas core to provide both stability and match-winning impetus since their inception in the IPL. It is what powered them to a historic title triumph in 2022, when the newly formed franchise surpassed all expectations to lift the trophy in its debut season.
Also finishing atop the 10-team league stage points table the following year, Gujarat Titans have since failed to qualify for the final in each of the last two editions. With IPL 2026 on the horizon, the Titans may well be devising fresh strategies and team combinations in a bid to reclaim their lost glory.
Fortunately for the Titans, they are not plagued with injury concerns to their overseas ensemble, unlike other franchises like KKR and CSK. With all their international recruits still match fit and raring to go, the Titans management might have a fair idea of their preferred overseas quartet in the playing XI. Here, we predict at least three of Gujarat Titans’ near-certain overseas starters for the upcoming IPL 2026 season.
Gujarat Titans' Overseas Players for IPL 2026
1. Jos Buttler
England great Jos Buttler has hit a bit of a rough patch in the lead up to the 2026 IPL. On a trail of an underwhelming 2026 ICC T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka, the former English captain has not hit a single half-century in his last 16 T20I innings since September 2025.
Despite his recent struggles, Buttler can expect to find a place in the Gujarat Titans XI as one of the starting four overseas options for his seniority alone. Moreover, his track record in the IPL speaks volumes of his caliber, and the 35-year-old will view his upcoming stint with the Titans as an opportunity to rediscover his batting touch.

Even during IPL 2025 last year, the blistering top-order batter aggregated 538 runs in just 13 innings at an extravagant average of nearly 60 and a strike rate of 163.03.

| Criterion | Stats |
| Innings | 13 |
| Runs | 538 |
| Average | 59.77 |
| Strike rate | 163.03 |
Extra motivated and hungry for runs, Buttler will be keen to make the most of his forthcoming IPL season for the Gujarat Titans by translating his pedigree into consistent returns. Given his stature and experience, fans can expect to see him in action across all 14 league games, and beyond if the franchise manages to break into the top four.
2. Rashid Khan
No matter what franchise he plays for, Afghanistan legend Rashid Khan has hardly missed an IPL game since his tournament debut back in 2017 for the SRH franchise. One of the starting members of the Gujarat Titans set up and a certain overseas pick for nearly every match, Rashid will likely continue the trend in IPL 2026 as well, remaining a near-automatic selection in the playing XI.
The world’s most successful T20 bowler in terms of wickets, the Afghanistan all-rounder adds an extra dimension to the side with his leg-spin, with his four overs often proving decisive in crunch situations.
Apart from his reliable bowling pedigree, Rashid Khan also holds an innate ability of going berserk with the bat in the slog overs, as evidenced by his IPL batting strike rate of above 160.
3. Glenn Phillips
A dynamite with the bat, a handy off-spin operator with the ball and a livewire on the field; New Zealand cricketer Glenn Phillips brings invaluable all-round utility to any T20 setup. While he is yet to light up the grand stage of the IPL on fire, and played the last of his mere eight matches back during the 2023 edition, Phillips will be eager to stamp his authority and carve out a lasting footprint in the tournament.
Mostly batting in the middle-order, the 29-year-old New Zealander strikes at 141.32 in T20 matches, and has plundered 47 half-centuries and five tons so far in his 286-match career. All in all, Phillips could be a strong contender for a spot in the Titans’ playing XI this IPL 2026 season, considering his ability of influencing multiple facets of the game.
