Having risen through Uttar Pradesh’s U-16 ranks, Upendra Yadav plays as a batter in the Indian domestic circuit.
A crafty right-handed batter, Yadav made his first-class debut for Uttar Pradesh during the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy season. It was a horror debut for Yadav as he was dismissed for a nought in his first-ever innings.
The following season, Yadav was given an opportunity to cement a place in the shorter formats of the game when he made his List-A debut for UP in the 2017-18 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
In November 2021, Yadav was named in India A; squad for the South African tour. It is a great opportunity for Yadav to showcase his skills against a quality bowling attack of South Africa.
So far, Yadav has played 23 FC matches and has amassed 1027 runs, at an average of 48.90.
