A thumping win by defending champions Kashi Rudras. They win by 67 runs and take their revenge for the humiliation at the hands of Noida Kings on Wednesday. Credit should go to their skipper Karan Sharma, who scored a massive ton and found his lost form. The target of 218 runs was chaseable on this Kanpur track but Kashi bowlers were right on the spot and bundled out Noida Kings for just 150 runs.
Karan Sharma (Player of the Match and Kashi Rudras' Captain): "(On the performance) This was a much-needed win for us. The turnaround at Green Park was crucial for us; it is important to grab the momentum, and I am grateful that we did it with both hands.
(On the powerplay and opening again) We had spoken about me batting in the middle order earlier, to take on the spinners, and finish the match, but Lucknow was a wicket where you needed time to settle yourself. This strategy did not work out, so Abhishek and I spoke about opening together again, and taking the charge together from the first ball itself.
(On his six-hitting ability) I have worked on my game during the off-season, and as a batter, it is important to keep improving your game.
(On the upcoming match) Yes, we hope to continue this level of performance in our last league game and win that one too."
