With this win, Kashi Rudras have advanced to the playoffs. They have now progressed to the playoffs in every season of the UP T20 league. The defending champs will play the Eliminator game against Noida Kings. Meanwhile, Meerut Mavericks will play Qualifier 1 against Lucknow Falcons. Both games will be played on Thursday.
Kashi Rudras have put up a very dominating performance and they register a 56-run win in this all-important encounter against Meerut Mavericks. After Kashi posted 175/4 on a turning track, the chase was always going to be difficult for Meerut Mavericks, who never looked in a position to chase down the target.
Kartik Yadav (POTM): "(Enjoyed bowling today) Yes, of course. It was a slightly helpful wicket, and obviously, I’ve always enjoyed both bowling and batting. I really enjoyed bowling today, sir.
(About his bowling variations) Yes, obviously, sir. Since T20 is a short format, the batter will always try to read you. So, the more variations I can bring into my bowling—whether through different angles, my release point, or the way I use my fingers—the more helpful it becomes for me, whether it’s a flat wicket or a turning surface
(Thinking while bowling in the powerplay) Sir, I didn’t even know that I was going to bowl in the powerplay! But obviously, sir, I’m always ready for the team. Whether it’s bowling in the powerplay, the death overs, or anywhere else, I’m always ready. I just want to contribute to the team with my bowling.
(About his bowling plans and preparations) Sir, I don’t really have any specific personal bowling plans like that. But whenever we have team meetings, we discuss things with the support staff and watch videos to understand what each batter does and how we can bowl to them. I also prepare myself a little before bowling or before entering the ground—thinking about what I need to do. And since this is the UP league, we’ve been playing against many of these batters for a while, so you naturally get an idea of what a particular batter might do and what I need to do to get them out."

Karan Sharma (Kashi Rudras Captain): "(Mindset while batting during the first innings) Absolutely, sir. Looking at the conditions we’ve been playing in—the weather has been rainy, the wickets have been under covers for most of the time, and the spinners have been playing a very important role—I felt that a left-hand-right-hand combination would be a good option. Initially, it worked well for us too, thankfully. So, it was a good strategy.
(On Virat Jaiswal's innings today) Absolutely, sir. I think having a right-hand-left-hand combination has its benefits. It allows you to rotate the strike more frequently, especially because the opposition has mostly been using left-arm spinners. If you have two right-handers at the crease and the wicket is helping the left-arm spinner, you can sometimes get stuck playing too many dot balls. That was the thinking behind it. And the way he approached his innings—we had discussed it between ourselves, there was good communication—and I really enjoyed it. The way he batted was definitely appreciable.
(Happy with the team's performance) Absolutely, sir. As we’ve been discussing, our middle order had been struggling a little over the last eight or nine matches. When he came in, he batted with positive intent. When you’re going through a slump, you can sometimes go into your shell, but he stepped up, showed positive intent, and played a very good innings.
(About the team peaking at the right time) Absolutely, sir. The roles are becoming clearer, and we’re approaching things better. We’re also working on improving our fielding. I think our intent has changed a little, and our body language has changed as well. Those things make a difference to your cricket. We’ve been talking about these aspects a lot as a team, and so far, it has worked well for us.
(Excited about the playoffs) We’re definitely excited. Our tournament has only just started."
