The Lahore Qalandars franchise sustained a humiliating defeat to Islamabad United in match number 16 of the PSL 2026 season. Batting first, the Qalandars bundled out for just 100 inside 20 overs, before allowing United opener Devon Conway to struck an enterprising half-century in the run chase.
The outcome marked Qalandars’ second defeat this PSL 2026 season, as they continue to remain at number five on the eight-team points table with mere four points from four matches. Under the leadership of Shaheen Afridi, the franchise also etched its name for an unwanted record in the archives of the tournament.
Lahore Qalandars suffer one of their biggest defeats
Islamabad United flayed Shaheen Afridi-led Lahore Qalandars by nine wickets in match 16 of the PSL 2026 season. Notably, the Shadab Khan-led franchise also blazed past the Qalandars with 58 balls to spare, thus marking one of the biggest-ever margins of defeats for any side in PSL history.

Moreover, the outcome also marked the largest defeat for the Lahore Qalandars, in terms of number of balls remaining while defending totals of 100 or more, and their second largest defeat overall in the tournament.

Back in PSL 2019, Lahore Qalandars suffered a similar seven-wicket drubbing, albeit at the hands of Peshawar Zalmi with as many as 59 balls remaining. While the outcome continues to remain Qalandars’ biggest defeat ever in PSL history, the team scored just 78 runs in the match upfront in Dubai after batting first.

Lahore Qalandars’ recent defeat against the Islamabad United also marks the fourth highest margin of defeat in the history of the PSL. Interestingly, the Qalandars now hold an unwanted distinction of suffering two of the four biggest defeats in PSL matches. Qalandars vs United: As it happened
Lahore Qalandars batted first and bundled out for just 100 in 18.3 overs. Sikandar Raza at number five top scored in the innings with a mere 25-run effort from 19 balls. As many as six batters in the line-up fell for single digit scores, which included a first-ball duck for opener Mohammad Naeem.
For United, Chris Green picked up sensational figures of 3-19 from his four overs. Fellow spinners Shadab Khan and Imad Wasim also picked up two wickets each in the innings.
Chasing 101, Islamabad United opener Devon Conway struck 59 unbeaten runs off just 35 balls with seven boundaries and three huge sixes at the National Stadium in Karachi. Mohammad Faiq at number three also belted 34* off just 19 as United secured a comfortable nine-wicket win in just 10.2 overs.
