Finn Allen breaks multiple records [Source: AP]
KKR’s smart investment in Finn Allen during the IPL 2026 mini auction turned out to be a masterstroke as the Kiwi batter has become their most destructive batter in the ongoing season. He was dropped after a couple of failures in the early part of the IPL, but since his return, Allen has been unstoppable.
Known for his ability to snatch the game in the blink of an eye, Allen gave reality check to the Gujarat Titans bowlers in the IPL 2026 match at the Eden Gardens, and gave a timely reminder about his class in this format.
While his opening partner, Ajinkya Rahane, struggled for runs, Allen took it upon himself to up the scoring rate, and GT bowlers felt his wrath as he broke multiple records with a whirlwind 21-ball fifty.

He took a special liking towards Rashid Khan, hammering him for 6, 6, and 4 to complete a stellar half-century, and in the process, he attained several records.

Allen missed out on a huge KKR record
Despite scoring one of the best knocks in the IPL 2026, the KKR opener missed out on a chance to etch his name in the history books. The batter was dismissed for 93 off 35 balls, and he missed out on a deserving century by just 7 runs.
Had he reached the milestone, Allen would have become the first KKR player with multiple IPL centuries. Brendon McCullum, Venkatesh Iyer, Sunil Narine, and Finn Allen have all smacked a solitary ton in the IPL, and the Kiwi opener was the closest to surpassing the others and sit at Mount Rushmore.
