For match 62 of the ongoing IPL 2026 season, RR will take on DC on Sunday, May 17. The clash will be held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi at 7:30 PM IST.

The tournament is more or less over for Delhi Capitals as they stand on the seventh spot with just 10 points. While they beat PBKS in the last game, the odds of their playoff qualification are slim.

But, they can spoil RR’s party and at home, DC will look to perform better and give fans a reason to cheer before they bow out.

On the other hand, this will be a do-or-die game for Rajasthan Royals who are desperate to qualify for the playoffs. With 12 points, they are seated at the fifth spot with three more games to go.

Moreover, RR are coming off a humiliating 77-run loss against GT in their previous game. Hence, the team must reclaim the winning momentum to ensure a deep knockout run.

With the stakes so high, let’s see what could be RR’s strongest playing XI for the game.

RR Playing XI vs DC - IPL 2026, Match 62

Top Order - Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel

The opening pair of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal has been the backbone of Rajasthan Royals in this IPL 2026 season. The 15-year-old, for instance, has scored 440 runs in 11 games, including a century.

Hence, the duo will continue to open in the RR Playing XI vs DC and a lot will depend on how they perform. At no. 3, Dhruv Jurel will likely walk out to bat. Captain Riyan Parag missed the last game against GT due to a hamstring injury.

RR have not provided any injury update on him so far. Hence, he could miss the game against DC as well. In his absence, Jurel is most suited to bat at number 3 in the RR Playing XI vs DC.

Middle Order - Shimron Hetmyer, Ravindra Jadeja, Donovan Ferreira, Shubham Dubey, Dasun Shanaka

In the middle order, RR have put their trust back in Shimron Hetmyer who has been struggling with form this season. While he failed in the last game as well, RR are currently out of options.

Ravindra Jadeja and Donovan Ferreira will play in the middle order. Ferreira has been a solid hitter as he can score big runs in fewer deliveries, which makes him an ideal asset.

Shubham Dubey will fill in for Riyan Parag. He also has the ability to hit sixes but lacks experience at this stage. Dasun Shanaka will be RR’s finisher with a vast T20 experience in his resume.

Bowlers - Jofra Archer, Tushar Deshpande, Brijesh Sharma

For bowling, Jofra Archer will be Rajasthan Royals’ lead fast bowler. He has picked up 15 wickets so far with an average of 24.33. Also, Tushar Deshpande will assist Archer from the other end with the new ball in the RR Playing XI vs DC.

Sandeep Sharma has been dropped for unknown reasons. His availability is also uncertain. So he may not get a chance in this game. Brijest Sharma is another pacer RR have put a lot of trust in this year.

As for spinners, Jadeja will lead the charge while RR may call Yash Raj Punja or Ravi Bishnoi as an impact sub to assist him.

Overall, Rajasthan are unlikely to make any changes to the RR Playing XI vs DC due to lack of strong bench strength.
