KKR have had a season to forget under the leadership of Rahane. With just 4 wins in 11 games, they have an outside chance of qualifying for the playoffs. But even when the team needed him the most, Ajinkya let the fans down miserably.

Opening the innings for KKR, Ajinkya Rahane struggled to connect with the new ball, and Mohammed Siraj nailed his weakness against him to get a crucial breakthrough for the Gujarat Titans.

Many questioned his credentials as a captain, as he has scored just 251 runs in 12 games in the IPL 2026 season at an average of 22.81. This is not something the supporters would expect from a captain who is also the opener of the team.
