When KKR bought New Zealand batter Finn Allen in the IPL 2026 mini auction, there were certain expectations from him. He had struck a magnificent century in the T20 World Cup against the South African side, and thus, the buzz was at an all-time high when KKR roped him in their squad.
For the first few IPL 2026 games, Allen was quiet as he took his time to adjust. The batter was also dropped midway through the campaign for his Kiwi teammate, Tim Seifert. However, Allen was brought back into the lineup, and he repaid the faith by toying with the Delhi Capitals bowlers.
Finn Allen smashes fastest IPL hundred by a KKR player
The Kiwi batter was in some mood today as the right-handed explosive player took down the DC attack with utmost ease, and he made a mockery of the target set by the Capitals (143).
Such was his prowess that out of the 147 runs scored by KKR, Allen, alone smashed 100 runs in just 47 balls, and in the process, he became the KKR player with the fastest IPL hundred.
The previous record-holder was Sunil Narine, who had registered a 49-ball ton against Rajasthan Royals in 2024. His innings was laced with 10 sixes, and 5 fours, and he struck at 212.7.

Finn Allen keeps KKR's playoff hopes alive
KKR needed to beat the Delhi Capitals to keep their IPL playoff hopes alive, and the KKR opener was the hero for the side as his unbeaten century propelled the Knight Riders to a huge win.
With this win, KKR have won their last four IPL 2026 matches, and they currently have 9 points in 10 matches. At best, they can only afford to lose one more match, but not more than that.
Allen’s explosive performance also helped the team improve their net run-rate (-0.169). If KKR ends up making the IPL playoffs, his innings against DC might be what makes the difference.
