On Friday, Delhi Capitals hosted Kolkata Knight Riders for IPL 2026 match 51 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The visitors won the toss and opted to field first. The decision didn’t pay off initially as the opening pair of KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka stitched a 49-run stand for the first wicket.
KL Rahul got off to a brilliant start, as the right-handed batter was playing on 23 (14), which is when he threw his wicket away. Despite that, the 34-year-old shattered several records and scripted new milestones.
KL Rahul Slams Fastest 1000 Runs For Delhi Capitals
Notably, KL Rahul completed 1000 IPL runs for Delhi Capitals in just two seasons with the franchise. The right-handed batter also went past Rishabh Pant to become the fastest player to reach this milestone. Here is the complete list.
KL Rahul took just 24 innings to script this historic feat. JP Duminy and Rishabh Pant were the previous joint-holders as they reached the feat in 35 innings.

KL Rahul Completes 500 Fours In IPL
With four boundaries in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders, KL Rahul completed 500 IPL fours. He became the 7th player in the history of the league to reach this milestone. Among the Indians, KL Rahul is the 6th Indian to score 500 IPL fours.
Notably, Virat Kohli has the most fours in IPL history with 813 fours. At present, KL Rahul has a long way to go to break RCB star's record.
Delhi Capitals In Deep Trouble vs KKR
Delhi Capitals got off to a brilliant start as they were 49/0. However, things turned around quickly as they lost next 5 wickets for just 46 runs on th board. KKR spinners brought their side back in the hunt.
Pathum Nissanka was the only star player as he scored 50 (29). In the bowling, Anukul Roy was the key bowler as he picked up a couple of wicket. Further, Sunil Narine, Kartik Tyagi, and Cameron Green also took one wicket each.
