Even in CPL, Russell was associated with Knight Riders’ sister franchise Trinbago Knight Riders. He had been with the same franchise since 2022 before returning to the Jamaica-based franchise.

Andre Russell's Best Records In CPL
Russell is known for breaking records wherever he plays, and no wonder CPL was one such competition, among many others.
He holds the record for the fastest half-century in CPL history, a feat he achieved by smashing 50 runs in 14 balls during the 2021 season for Jamaica.
In CPL 2016 Qualifier 2, Russell slammed a century in just 42 balls for Jamaica, the fastest so far in the competition. Back then, they were known as the Jamaica Tallawahs. More significantly, it came against the Trinbago Knight Riders.
Later, he broke his own record in CPL 2018 with a 40-ball century. Interestingly, the opposition were the same once again: Trinbago Knight Riders. In fact, to let the world talk about him, he even claimed a hat-trick in the same match.
Later Tim Seifert joined him in the list by slamming a century off the exact same delivery, during CPL 2025.
Russell has a strike rate of 169.36 in Caribbean Premier League history. This is the highest among everybody. He has played 107 innings in the competition and still stays at the top, showing how destructive he has become over the years.
David Miller, who did not play a CPL match since 2024, is second on the chart, with strike rate of 154 after 31 innings.
