There is not a single day without drama in Pakistan cricket, and another major story has now grabbed attention. Khushdil Shah is reportedly leaving Pakistan cricket, with the shocking claim going viral.

Khushdil Shah has been away from the national team for some time now, but a fresh claim about his future has created plenty of buzz amid his ongoing selection struggles in the Pakistan cricket team.

Pakistan Teammate Claimed Khushdil Shah Is Leaving Pakistan Cricket

Khushdil Shah has been away from Pakistan’s national team for a considerable period, with his last appearance coming during the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup last year. His absence has continued since then.

Amid his prolonged absence, an old video featuring Pakistan all-rounder Abbas Afridi has resurfaced online. In the video, Afridi spoke about a conversation he had with Khushdil regarding his international future.

Afridi claimed that Khushdil had told him he had around four months left to get another Pakistan call-up. If that did not happen, he would have to leave Pakistan cricket, according to Afridi.

Khushdil Shah has now broken his silence on the viral claim of him leaving Pakistan cricket, making it clear that he has no plans to walk away from Pakistan cricket despite the speculation surrounding his future.

The Pakistan all-rounder took to his Instagram stories to address the matter directly, calling the claim fake and completely untrue while also highlighting his commitment to representing the country.

“There's fake news going around claiming I'm leaving Pakistan cricket and it's completely untrue.”

With that message, Khushdil Shah put an end to the growing speculation surrounding his future. He made his stance clear, while reminding fans that representing Pakistan remains a huge honour and continues to be his biggest priority as an international cricketer.

Khushdil's Selection Battle With PCB Continues

Khushdil’s latest clarification may have ended the leaving r umours, but his ongoing battle for selection with the PCB remains a major talking point. His recent activity has made that frustration quite evident.

Just days ago, the all-rounder reposted social media posts criticising the PCB over selection blunders. His recent performances in PSL have also given him reason to believe that he deserves another opportunity.

Khushdil has represented Pakistan in both ODIs and T20Is during his international career. He has played 15 ODIs, scoring 328 runs at an average of 32.80, while his 38 T20I appearances have produced 434 runs at a strike-rate of 104.07.

At 31, Khushdil still has plenty of cricket left in him, but his continued absence from Pakistan’s plans does not make his immediate international future look particularly promising. The selection battle, therefore, appears far from over.
