Over the years, Trent Boult has built the reputation for letting the ball do the talking instead of giving reactions in fiery celebrations. However, on Thursday, during the Hundred Men 2026 fixture between London Spirit and MI London, it did not seem to be the case.
Recently, Boult has received considerable criticism for his slump in form of late, particularly after what he did for Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2026. Not to forget, he was signed by MI for a whopping contract worth INR 12.50 crore during the IPL 2025 auction.
On Thursday, 37-year-old Boult told the world he is not done yet, and Jonny Bairstow was at the receiving end.
Boult Produces Vintage Yorker To Castle Jonny Bairstow
Bairstow, playing for London Spirit, came to open the innings. He smashed a four and a six on back-to-back deliveries against Boult. However, the Kiwi left-armer came back in roaring style, pulling off a perfect yorker towards the leg-stump line to knock over the Englishman.
Immediately after, Boult made a gesture with his left hand and kept on saying something at Bairstow while indicating that he should return to the pavilion. Just when Bairstow looked back at him, Boult kept his head down to avoid anything dirty on the field.

After 20 deliveries, Boult finished with 2/35 against London Spirit, with David Willey being his other wicket apart from Jonny Bairstow.
How Has Boult Been Performing In The Hundred 2026?
Boult has been in incredible form in The Hundred Men 2026 in England. After six matches in the competition, there was not a single time when he left the field wicketless. So far, he has claimed eight wickets in six matches, with an impressive economy rate of 6.30.
After a miserable IPL 2026, Boult was in America, playing MLC 2026 for MI New York. There, he did not make much of an impact either, claiming eight wickets in 10 games at 8.50.
Fortunately for him and the MI family, he seems to be back on track in The Hundred 2026. They would like to keep him for at least another season before heading to the mega auction for IPL 2028.
Trent Boult's Stats In IPL 2026
Trent Boult leaked 11.63 runs per over during IPL 2026, having only picked up two wickets in five matches for Mumbai Indians (MI).
He had no single outing in which he could be the best among the rest of the bowlers. His woeful form played a significant role in MI’s IPL 2026 campaign, where they finished ninth on the points table with four wins and 10 defeats.
Only Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) had worse record than MI in IPL 2026.
MI anyway are looking to make wholesale changes for IPL 2027, with Boult’s place also in doubt if numbers don’t improve in coming months.
