RCB’s superstar batter Virat Kohli hit a failure against LSG as he was cleaned up by Prince Yadav in the 50th fixture of the IPL 2026 season. However, the Lucknow pacer faced heat on social media despite his brilliance.

The RCB vs LSG game faced many interruptions due to rain at the Ekana Stadium. Despite that, Lucknow didn’t let the momentum slip and scored 209/3, courtesy Mitchell Marsh’s remarkable century (111 off 56 balls).

Meanwhile, RCB had the worst possible start to the chase as they lost opener Jacob Bethell to Mohammed Shami in the very first over. To add to the misery, Virat Kohli was also sent packing by LSG’s young gun, Prince Yadav.

Prince set up Kohli brilliantly. First, he shaped a ball away before delivering a sharp nip-backer at 140.4 kph that breached the former RCB captain’s defence and crashed into the off stump.

Kohli, attempting a forward push, was beaten by the late movement as the ball sneaked through the gate, leaving the batter stunned and sending Prince Yadav into wild celebration.

That ball was nearly unplayable, and there was nothing Virat Kohli could have done differently to protect his stumps.

However, despite his brilliance, Prince Yadav got trolled by Kohli fans on social media. His Instagram comment section was filled with hate comments as toxic fans slammed him for dismissing Virat Kohli.

In a few minutes after the dismissal, Yadav’s Instagram comment section count went from 84 to 18k. While Prince was just doing his job, a few fans just chose to spread hatred for no reason at all.

Meanwhile, Prince Yadav rose above the hate. He not only overpowered Virat Kohli but also produced a breakthrough when LSG needed it the most. He dismissed Devdutt Padikkal to break the 95-run stand between the latter and Rajat Patidar.

Not only that, Prince got rid of Jitesh Sharma in the same over to reduce RCB to 4 wickets at 106 runs on the board. In just 3 overs, Prince Yadav had 3 wickets while conceding just 21 runs in a high-scoring encounter.

He single-handedly turned the momentum back in LSG’s favour, as RCB collapsed after that fateful 11th over.

Prince, meanwhile, is continuing his dream form as he sits in third place in the Purple Cap race with 16 wickets in 10 games at a 17.93 average.

RCB on the verge of a brutal defeat

That being said, RCB lost momentum early in the chase after they lost both openers inside the powerplay. With 213 runs to chase, Devdutt Padikkal and Rajat Patidar injected some hope with an 85-run partnership.

However, the lower-order again collapsed as finishers Jitesh Sharma and Tim David failed horribly. With the required run rate still above 15, RCB are likely to fall short and endure their fourth defeat of the season.

If RCB lose here, they would also miss out on the chance to top the standings. Also, their momentum and NRR will take a huge hit, which could eventually end up hurting their playoff qualification odds.
