Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will be on the high of Mukul Choudhary's special blitz vs KKR in the last game at Eden Gardens. The Rishabh Pant-led side is back home to face the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the afternoon game at Ekana on Sunday.

Against Kolkata, the game was gone. All hopes were shattered for LSG, but there was Mukul Choudhary in the middle. The unearthed star pulled off unreal hitting in the final overs, slamming an unbeaten 54 as he finished a last-ball nail-biter.

Apart from Choudhary, Ayush Badoni helped Lucknow set up the chase, with a maiden half-century of the season. With the ball, the pacers had a questionable outing, but the spin twins Digvesh Rathi and M Siddharth bowled mightily.

Ahead of their next clash, let us look at what could be the LSG Playing XI vs GT in at the Ekana Cricket Stadium.

LSG Playing XI vs GT, IPL 2026, Match 19

Top Order: Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, Rishabh Pant

The Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram pair has yet to deliver for LSG in the IPL 2026. Although Markram has played a match-winning knock, the Australian T20 captain hasn’t played a Mitch Marsh-esque knock. The positive for Lucknow is that when this duo fires, they have the calibre to win games on their day.

Amid controversies, Rishabh Pant starts trending whenever the Super Giants play, as the skipper is always under the limelight. However, with the fame, there was scrutiny over Pant. Despite winning the game vs SRH, he was heavily criticised for his failure against KKR. The southpaw will be crucial in the LSG Playing XI vs GT.

Middle Order & All-Rounders: Ayush Badoni, Nicholas Pooran, Abdul Samad, Mukul Choudhary

Playing as the Impact Player, Ayush Badoni surely left an impact vs KKR. He not only revived the innings with his 34-ball 54, but he also laid an even platform for Mukul Chaudhary. Badoni, playing at four, has a mature head who can anchor the innings and then demolish the opposition too.

Why Nicholas Pooran can't be dropped?

There is certainly debate over dropping Nicholas Pooran from the LSG Playing XI vs GT, especially after three failures for the Carribean dasher. However, Pooran can not be dropped! Why? He has impeccable ability to take down spinners, plus LSG lack options to replace the dynamic left-hander in the middle order.

Alongside Pooran, Abdul Samad also failed vs KKR. However, the J&K cricketer is a utility player, and he played a cameo for LSG a couple of games ago.

Mukul Choudhary played the innings of his life in the last game. He will be the first name in the team sheet for LSG Playing XI vs GT. Ahead of IPL 2026, Choudhary was touted to be the star in the making, and he surely showed why. He demonstrated clean six-hitting as he finished the game, with Mukul Choudhary hitting a record 7 sixes and 2 boundaries.

Bowlers: Mohammed Shami, Prince Yadav, Avesh Khan, Digvesh Rathi

Mohammed Shami and Prince Yadav have formed a complementary new-ball pair for Lucknow. Under Shami's guidance, Yadav is learning the art, and together they are enabling LSG to break partnerships. Between them, they have picked eight wickets so far in the IPL 2026.

Avesh Khan, who has played two games this season, was tonked all over the park vs KKR. The team management might look to bring in Mayank Yadav at some stage, but not in the LSG Playing XI vs GT.

Digvesh Rathi was one of the biggest match-winners for the Super Giants last season. However, he didn't have a great welcome to IPL 2026. Although he could pick just a solitary wicket in the last game, he bowled a misery of a spell vs KKR. Rathi formed a lethal pair in the middle with M Siddharth, who will likely be the Impact Player.
