Ayush Badoni is a batting all-rounder who represents Delhi in India’s domestic circuit. A versatile player with the ability to bat top of the order, alongside his knack to pick up wickets with off-spin bowling, is what makes him stand out.

Badoni stamped his authority representing India in the U-19 four-day match against Sri Lanka, scoring 185 runs off just 202 deliveries. The most astounding fact about it is that he fetched these numbers after walking down to bat at the number 7 position. 

Born on December 3, 1999, Badoni can cover all aspects of the game, including power-hitting, agile fielding, and a great arsenal of spin bowling, making him a talent for the ages.

In January 2026, Badoni was called up to the Indian ODI squad as a replacement for the injured player Washington Sundar, marking his first senior national team selection. However, he didn’t get the chance to make his India debut.

Ayush Badoni IPL Career

The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) bought Ayush Badoni at his base price of INR 20 lakhs during the 2022 IPL mega-auction. Playing his maiden IPL game on March 28, 2022, against the Gujarat Titans, became the first player to score a half-century on debut while batting at No. 6 or below.

After consistently delivering crucial lower-order runs, LSG rewarded him with a significant salary jump to INR 4 Crore ahead of the 2025 mega auction. He produced his most successful campaign during the 2025 season, scoring 329 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate of 148.20, highlighted by a high score of 74 against the Punjab Kings.

Acknowledging his continuous growth and reliability as a core finisher, LSG officially retained him at his INR 4 Crore salary ahead of the 2026 season. However, the season didn’t meet Badoni’s expectations.
