Young Indian batter Mukul Choudhary played a significant role in LSG's emphatic win over KKR in IPL 2026. Under Rishabh Pant's leadership, the Super Giants pipped the Knight Riders by three wickets in a thrilling encounter at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Although the tourists were reeling at 128 for seven at one stage, Mukul played a blinder and remained unbeaten to help them seal a memorable win. The promising batter's impactful knock helped him achieve several phenomenal milestones and etch his name in history books.

After being invited to bat first, KKR posted a respectable total of 181 runs in 20 overs, thanks to valuable contributions from Ajinkya Rahane, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Cameron Green and Rovman Powell.

In response, the Super Giants had the worst possible start, losing Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram early in the innings.

Although Nicholas Pooran and Rishabh Pant departed in quick succession, Mukul Choudhary and Ayush Badoni struck power-packed fifties, helping them accomplish a successful run chase in the very last ball.

The young batter, who was purchased by LSG for INR 2.60 crores, hammered seven sixes for a ballistic 27-ball 54. Thus, he attained some phenomenal feats following his blitzkrieg against the Knight Riders.

Mukul Choudhary scripts history with IPL milestones

Mukul Choudhary smashed seven sixes in the LSG Vs KKR match. This is the most number of sixes hit by an LSG batter while playing at no. 7 or below.

He also joined CSK legend Dwayne Bravo, who hit seven sixes in the 2018 IPL opener against arch-rivals Mumbai Indians. Chasing a 166-run target, CSK found themselves in troubled waters, being reduced to 118 for eight in 16.3 overs.

However, Dwayne Bravo struck a whirlwind innings of 68 runs off just 30 balls with the help of seven huge maximums. Mukul, coincidentally, powered LSG to a much-needed triumph from a similar situation against KKR.

Additionally, Mukul Choudhary also formed a historic unbeaten 54-run stand with Avesh Khan for the eighth wicket. This is the highest partnership for the 8th wicket or lower in a successful IPL run chase in the IPL.

While the keeper-batter blazed 54 runs, Avesh held the fort till the end, scoring a solitary run off three balls.

In-form LSG to face Gujarat Titans in next match

Led by Rishabh Pant, Lucknow Super Giants had an ordinary IPL campaign last year, finishing seventh on the points table with only six victories.

However, they have had a positive start this time and would like to capitalise on their winning momentum when they take on Gujarat Titans in their fourth group-stage clash

The Shubman Gill-led Titans recently defeated Delhi Capitals by one wicket and would be keen to extend their winning streak in the IPL 2026.

LSG, on the other hand, are placed fifth in the ten-team standings and will consolidate their chances of qualifying for the playoffs if they swat aside the Titans at the Ekana Stadium.
