In a news which came as a major disappointment for Pakistan Super League (PSL) fans, Match 7 of the ongoing edition could end without a ball being bowled due to persistent rain at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

At the time of writing, rain has begun heavily in Lahore, which, for sure, will delay the toss. Now, the question is will it force ISU Vs PSZ PSL 2026 Match to be abandoned? Let’s take a look at the weather forecast in this article.

Gaddafi Stadium Lahore Weather Report For ISU Vs PSZ

Many Pakistan fans have started posting on social media regarding Lahore weather update, as some of the pictures confirmed that rain has started at Gaddafi Stadium before the Islamabad versus Peshawar match.

According to Accuweather, the cloud coverage over Gaddafi Stadium is 99% at this point, and it will be 100% in the next hour or so.

Even though things will improve a little after the first hour of the scheduled match time, which is 7:30 PM onwards, it will not be as good as it can have a start, indicating that the match could eventually gets washout.

However, to delight PSL fans, the Accuweather also reported that the chances of rain is 2% during evening. If that happens in real, the ISU Vs PSZ PSL 2026 match could be a short one with fewer overs.

PSL 2026 Story So Far For Peshawar And Islamabad

So far, PSL have six matches in the ongoing edition, with no fixture got abandoned due to rain. Notably, all the fixtures have taken place at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, as there will only be two venues for the whole competition, as confirmed by the PCB earlier.

Peshawar Zalmi began their PSL 2026 journey against RawalpindiZ. The Babar Azam-led franchise got off to a winning start, with New Zealand’s Michael Bracewell winning the Player of the Match award due to his explosive 17-ball 35.

Riding on Bracewell’s cameo, coupled with others handy contributions, Peshawar chased down a 215-run target with five balls and six wickets in hand.

Islamabad, on the other hand, had a five-wicket defeat to begin their PSL 2026 campaign. Led by Shadab Khan, they could not defend 171-run total, as Imad Wasim and the other troops could not get the job done.

Therefore, Islamabad will be looking forward to register their first win in the ongoing PSL edition. However, only if the match gets played in Lahore, with the current weather conditions not favouring the fans even though they are not allowed to come to the stadium.

Peshawar, meanwhile, will aim to have two wins in two matches going forward with an aim to give Babar Azam his first PSL trophy as captain.

Update: At this moment (7:42 PM IST), the rain has stopped in Lahore. However, due to current ground conditions, the match is unlikely to happen. The cut-off time for a five-over match is 10:15 PM IST.

Eventually, the match was abandoned due to wet outfield.
