Tuesday evening will witness the Rajasthan Royals up against the Lucknow Super Giants in a crucial IPL 2026 match. While the LSG side is out of the tournament, RR is still in contention to reach the playoffs, but for that, they need to beat the visitors tonight.
The Rajasthan side is fifth in the points table, with 6 wins out of 12, and the franchise cannot afford to slip up in a bid to reach the IPL 2026 playoffs. However, even before the RR Vs LSG IPL match, the home side, Rajasthan Royals have suffered a huge jolt.
Their regular skipper, Riyan Parag, is unavailable for the IPL 2026 match vs the Lucknow side, and it comes in as a massive problem, considering that he performed well with the bat in the last two IPL matches.
Why Riyan Parag is not playing in IPL match vs LSG?
In the absence of Parag, Yashasvi Jaiswal was appointed the captain, and at toss time, the stand-in captain revealed that Parag is nursing a left hamstring injury, and as a precautionary measure, the Assam batter is out of the IPL 2026 contest vs LSG.
It is understood Riyan Parag has been advised to rest his left hamstring which he hurt while batting in RR's previous match against the Delhi Capitals.
"He has some hamstring injury. He will be fine soon," captain Yashasvi Jaiswal on Parag's injury status.

Not the first time Riyan Parag has been unavailable in IPL 2026
This is not the first time RR captain Riyan Parag has missed an IPL game this season. He also missed the crucial IPL match 52 against the Gujarat Titans, and it was once again Jaiswal, who stepped in to become the team captain.
Parag suffered a hamstring injury, but luckily for the franchise, he only missed a solitary game before making his return in the playing XI. However, it seems the batter has sustained a hamstring on the same leg.

Riyan Parag's IPL 2026 journey at a glance
It has been a topsy-turvy IPL tournament for the Assam player. He was appointed as the new team captain to replace Sanju Samson, and he started on the front-foot, winning their first four games.
However, his batting form took a hit as Parag crumbled under pressure, and it wasn’t until his last two innings that the right-handed player resurrected himself.
In 11 IPL 2026 matches, Parag has accumulated 258 runs, with a strike rate of 151, including two fifties under his belt.
