For IPL 2026, match 64 of IPL 2026,  Rajasthan Royals are hosting Lucknow Super Giants at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. LSG are out of the tournament but the Riyan Parag-led side have a lot at line.

Again, for the second time in this tournament, Riyan Parag has been left out of the playing XI due to injury. Hence, Yashasvi Jaiswal is leading the side.

For the toss, two captains - Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant walked down the track for the coin flip. The coin flip favoured Rajasthan Royals and they opted to field first.

Rishabh Pant (Lucknow Super Giants Captain): "[Happy to bat?] Pretty confident. We know it's gonna be a good wicket to bat on. Happy to bat first and it doesn't matter.

[How do you carry forward the good work?] Definitely, as I said in the last game, it's all to play for. We take pride in playing each game. We want to put our best foot forward because we have a team and we want to play well.

Yashasvi Jaiswal (Rajasthan Royals Captain): "We wanna bowl first. I feel like it's good wicket to bat later on. There will be some dew I hope. [on leading the side] It means a lot to me, always proud to represent Rajasthan Royals.

[on nature of injury to Riyan] He has some hamstring injury. He will be fine soon.

Why Is Mohammed Shami Not Playing Today?

Notably, a funny incident occurred during toss where Rishabh Pant revealed that Mohammed Shami is not playing. In reply, Ian Bishop asked him about the reason, but the LSG skipper got it all wrong.

Pant couldn't understand the question and failed to provide any explanation behind Shami's ouster. Nonetheless, it is  a big blow to LSG because Shami has been one of their best bowlers and has picked up 10 wickets in 12 innings.
