Revealed: Why Is Riyan Parag Not Playing In RR vs GT IPL 2026 Match Today?

Rajasthan Royals are hosting Gujarat Titans at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium for IPL 2026 match 52. The two teams are at an interesting stage so far as a win could see any of the two teams top the table. Interestingly, Yashasvi Jaiswal is leading the side as Riyan Parag is out of the ongoing match.

The internet got into a frenzy to see RR's regular skipper Riyan Parag not playing against Gujarat Titans.

Why Is Riyan Parag Not Playing vs GT?

Notably, Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is leading the side for the first time, revealed that Riyan Parag is carrying an injury, which is why he is missing his first game of IPL 2026. Notably, Parag suffered an hamstring injury in the last match, which has ruled him out of action against GT.

"(On Riyan Parag missing the game due to injury) Riyan pulled his hamstring in the last game, so I feel he’ll be back soon," revealed Jaiswal speaking at the toss.

For the toss, two captains - Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill walked down the track for the coin flip. The luck favoured the hosts and RR opted to field first.
