The 2nd ODI between India and New Zealand is underway in Wellington. The Men in Blue won the toss and opted to field. The decision turned out to be a masterstroke because the Kiwis lost early wickets. Glenn Phillips, who is in the form of his life, was asked to take strike when Blackcaps were 53/4.

When Phillips walked to bat, India veterans Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma saw the funny side of it and teamed up to tease the Kiwi star with John Cena’s ‘U Can’t see me’ move.

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli Team Up in the 2nd ODI

Glenn Phillips has been long associated with John Cena’s iconic move because the right-handed batter used to make his entry on Cena’s theme song. Therefore, the fans usually perform the ‘U Can’t See Me’ move in front of Phillips.

In the latest events, SonyLIV, the broadcaster for the India vs New Zealand series, posted a video where Ajinkya Rahane, who is donning the commentary hat, performed the same move in the commentary box.

Meanwhile, during the Wellington ODI, Rohit Sharma, who was standing in the slips, gestured the same way, and Virat Kohli burst out laughing. It is worth noting that the Indian veterans have did this for 2nd straight time in this series.

In the 1st ODI, it was Virat Kohli who looked to distract Phillips by doing the ‘U Can’t see me’ move, but the Kiwi star paid no heed to it.

Glenn Phillips Fails to Shine in 2nd ODI

As mentioned above, Glenn Phillips is having a series to remember. However, the right-handed batter failed to shine in the 2nd ODI and fell for a four-ball duck. Nonetheless, in the 1st ODI, Phillips scored 51 off 30.

In the 5-match T20I series, Glenn Phillips scored 341 runs in 5 innings, which featured a century and three fifty-plus scores. Notably, he shattered the world record for most runs scored by a player in a bilateral T20I series.

He went past Phil Salt’s feat. It also explains why India stars celebrated the most when they got Phillips out in the 2nd ODI.
