Ryan Burl took an absolute beauty of a catch on Sunday during Zimbabwe’s last T20 World Cup 2026 match against South Africa, taking place at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. In the process, Ryan Rickelon had to end his stay after a well-made 22-ball 31, which had four huge sixes.

The catch taken by Burl came during the 6th over of South Africa’s innings when Brad Evans was into the attack. Evans, who got a special message from Tilak Varma for his sister, bowled a short delivery outside the off stump. Rickleton tried to hook it, only to find the toe-end of the bat.

Burl ran backwards, and realised he had overrun for a little while, and adjusted perfectly to complete a sensational catch.

Ryan Burl Takes One Of The Best T20 World Cup Catches

T20 World Cup 2026’s broadcaster, Star Sports, took little time to post the video on social media. There have been quite a few catches which could win the best catch of this edition, of which one was taken by Burl’s teammate Brian Bennett, while the other one was taken by the superman himself Glenn Phillips.

South Africa On Charge Vs Zimbabwe

Earlier in the innings, Zimbabwe posted 153/7 on the board, with captain Sikandar Raza leading by example, smashing 73 off just 43 deliveries. Clive Madande remained unbeaten on 26 off 20 deliveries, while the rest could not add much to the scoreboard.

Coming to chase, South Africa lost both their star openers -- Aiden Markram and Quinton de Kock -- early in the innings. Raza took wickets of both the openers, first of de Kock and then Markram. He came back to get rid of Dewald Brevis, who made 42 off only 18 deliveries.

Still, the Proteas are on top at the time of writing this, as they reach 115/5 after 12.1 overs, requiring only 39 runs off 47 balls for the victory. With Tristan Stubbs and George Linde in the middle, and Corbin Bosch still to come, the job should be a cake-walk for the last T20 World Cup edition's runner-ups.

India Vs West Indies Next!

While South Africa versus Zimbabwe does not add much to the T20 World Cup, the upcoming tournament’s fixture – to be played at Eden Gardens between India and the West Indies – is certainly the most significant one. The winner of that high-voltage clash will progress to the semi-final, joining England, South Africa and New Zealand.

With Pakistan’s elimination from the T20 World Cup, all three knockout fixtures will be in India. The first semi-final will be at Eden Gardens on March 4, the second will be at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. The all-important final will be on cricket’s biggest venue – Narendra Modi Stadium on March 8, Sunday.
