Prasidh Krishna picks up sensational five-fer vs Afghanistan
Indian fast bowler Prasidh Krishna steamrolled Afghanistan’s top-order in the third ODI of their three-match series in Chennai. The speedster picked up five wickets in the innings at an expense of just 23 runs to claim his maiden five-wicket haul in ODIs.
Krishna dismissed each of Afghanistan’s top five batters in the game, including captain and centurion Hashmatullah Shahidi for 102 off 131 balls.
Jaiswal ton helps India register record win to sweep series 3-0
Team India bulldozed Afghanistan by nine wickets in the third ODI in Chennai to seal the three-match series 3-0.
Chasing 219 after Prasidh Krishna’s five-wicket haul, Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal smacked a scintillating century, scoring 110* runs off just 86 balls with 14 boundaries and three sixes. Rohit Sharma also made 79 off 69 balls during his 170-run partnership with Jaiswal.

India stormed past Afghanistan in just 28.4 overs, thus winning the game by 128 balls to spare to record one of their biggest wins in ODI history.
Virat Kohli yet to be cleared for England tour
Virat Kohli is yet to receive clearance to play for India in their upcoming three-match ODI series in England. The legendary batter suffered from a hamstring injury, which ruled him out of India squad for the home series against Afghanistan.
Kohli will now reportedly undergo a fitness test on June 22 later this month, i.e., roughly two-and-a-half-weeks prior to the first ODI of the three-match series.
Hardik Pandya ruled out of England tour: Report
Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been reportedly ruled out of India squad for the upcoming tour of England.
The cricketer is yet to attain full recovery from his quadriceps injury. Pandya also missed a number of Mumbai Indians matches during the recently-concluded IPL 2026 season.
As per reports, the BCCI medical team has not given a green signal to the legendary all-rounder to travel with the Indian team to England later this month.
Joe Root completes 14000 Test runs
Joe Root churned out a fighting half-century for England on Day 4 of their second Test of the series against New Zealand at The Oval.
The legendary English batter completed 14,000 Test runs in the process, thus becoming only the second cricketer in history after Sachin Tendulkar to scale the landmark figure.
Root’s innings kept England in the game on a tough Day 4 as they chase an improbable target of 463 runs.
