Virat Kohli has touched down in Bengaluru to join the RCB franchise for the upcoming IPL 2026 season. Ishan Kishan has been appointed as SRH captain in the absence of legendary fast bowler Pat Cummins. In other news, the Rajasthan Royals franchise has unveiled its jersey design.

Agha Salman, Mehidy Hasan Miraz go big on ICC rankings after series heroics

Pakistan all-rounder Agha Salman and Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz both burst into the top 10 ICC ODI rankings for batters and bowlers respectively. Both cricketers gained nine rungs each, with Salman jumping into joint number ninth spot with India’s KL Rahul on the top 10 batting charts after he scored a fighting century against Bangladesh in Mirpur earlier this week.

Captain Miraz, who picked up five wickets in Bangladesh’s three-match ODI series win over Pakistan, also jumped up to number seventh spot after his wicket-taking spree against the visitors at home.

Dasun Shanaka gets NOC to join Lahore Qalandars for PSL 2026

Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka has passed the fitness test and has been granted the NoC by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) to play in the upcoming PSL 2026 season in Pakistan. The star all-rounder is slated to represent the Lahore Qalandars franchise in the tournament after getting acquired by them.

Shanaka last played PSL cricket back during the 2023 edition of the tournament for the Peshawar Zalmi franchise. He recently led the Sri Lankan team at the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup at home.

Rajasthan Royals unveil new IPL 2026 jersey

The Rajasthan Royals franchise has unveiled its jersey for the upcoming IPL 2026 season. While several fans of the franchise praised the new jersey design, the updated kit also attracted hilarious memes and criticism from RCB supporters, considering the Royals design bore striking similarities with that of the defending champion’s jersey.

In any case, the Rajasthan Royals has now joined the RCB, the KKR franchise and five-time winners Mumbai Indians to unveil their IPL 2026 jerseys in the past few weeks.

Ishan Kishan to lead SRH, Abhishek Sharma named vice-captain

Contrary to the earlier claims, the SRH franchise has officially appointed Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan as its new captain for the upcoming IPL 2026 season. Kishan will be expected to lead the ‘Orange Army’ until regular skipper Pat Cummins rejoins the squad after his recovery.

Blistering opening batter Abhishek Sharma, meanwhile, has been named vice-captain of the team. Earlier, it was reported that Abhishek will be leading the side in place of injured Cummins. In any case, the SRH team management now has two of India’s 2026 T20 World Cup winning members at the helm.

Virat Kohli arrives in Bengaluru to join RCB for IPL 2026

Virat Kohli has arrived in Bengaluru to join the RCB franchise for the upcoming IPL 2026 season. Set to enter the tournament for the first time as a ‘defending champion’, he is expected to join the team in their training.

The IPL 2026 season will also mark his return to competitive cricket after a gap of two months, considering the legendary batter last played any form of cricket back in January during India’s home ODI series against New Zealand.
