Pakistan's T20I captain Salman Agha was among the rare positives for his side in the recently concluded ODI series against Bangladesh.

In Babar Azam's absence, Agha spearheaded an inexperienced Pakistani middle-order, fighting like a lone warrior for his team.

He finished the tour with 175 runs across three innings at an average of 58.33 and a strike rate of 104.17. His successive fifty-plus scores in the series helped Salman move nine places up to the joint-ninth spot in the ODI batters' rankings.

On the other hand, Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz also made significant progress in the latest ICC rankings, courtesy of a string of impactful performances in the Pakistan Vs Bangladesh series.

Mehidy, who sparked debates and discussions by running Agha out in the second ODI, bagged five wickets in three matches. His effective spells resulted in a noticeable surge in his rating points. The Bangladeshi skipper moved nine spots up, finishing the week as the seventh-ranked ODI bowler.

Shaheen Afridi moves up in all-rounders' list, Mustafizur, Litton earn big

Pakistan's ODI captain, Shaheen Afridi, received backlash after his side suffered a crushing defeat to Bangladesh in the three-match series. However, on the back of a few notable performances, Shaheen managed to add crucial rating points to his tally in the ICC rankings.

The left-arm pacer bagged four wickets and amassed 44 runs, including a valiant 38-ball 37 in the decider. His efforts with the bat and ball led to Shaheen Afridi's progress in the ICC ODI rankings, as he jumped four places to claim the 25th position in the all-rounders' category.

Among others, Mustafizur Rahman, whose IPL contract was snubbed by the BCCI, moved 13 places up to the 47th spot, while Litton Das (up 10 places to 82nd), Tanzid Hasan (up 31 rungs to 55th) and Taskin Ahmed (up 12 spots to 28th) also made notable gains.

South Africa, New Zealand players rewarded in ICC T20I rankings

Mitchell Santner, who led New Zealand to the T20 World Cup 2026 final, was rewarded for his consistency in the format. The BlackCaps skipper has been impressive in the ongoing T20I series against South Africa, scalping three wickets and scoring 35 runs in two matches.

Santner's valuable contributions are reflected in the ICC rankings, as he went up eleven places to the 13th spot on the bowlers' list while also registering his career-best rating points in the all-rounders' category.

Among other players from New Zealand and South Africa, Lockie Ferguson (18 spots up to 51st), George Linde (up 11 places to 23rd in all-rounders' list) and Ottneil Baartman (up 23 spots to 73rd) made notable progress.
