In a significant development, Indian fans can rejoice because Virat Kohli has been recovering really well from his hamstring injury. For the unversed, Virat Kohli was ruled out of the upcoming Afghanistan ODIs because of a rare injury and was even doubtful for England ODIs.
In the latest events, a report from Boria Majumdar remarked that the 37-year-old is recovering well and should be available for the England ODIs. The much-awaited three-match series will begin on July 14.
Virat Kohli To be Available For England ODIs
Virat Kohli suffered a hamstring injury after the IPL 2026 final, and it got worse after he continued to bat despite pain. It eventually resulted in a rare injury, and the star batter was left out of the Afghanistan ODIs.
The BCCI didn’t provide any update on the extent of the injury, but it was assumed that Kohli would miss England ODIs because of the rarity of the injury. However, RevSportz confirmed that Virat is recovering really well and the injury is not as serious as earlier thought.
Now, it is likely that Virat might start his rehab back in England and join the camp in Birmingham only.

What Injury Did Virat Kohli Suffer?
As mentioned above Virat Kohli had a hamstring injury, but he made it worse by batting further in the IPL 2026 final against Gujarat Titans. Later, it was revealed that Virat Kohli is suffering from a rare injury, which is quite uncommon for athletes. The scans revealed the injury to be a distal semimembranosus tendon tear.
A distal semimembranosus tendon tear is a rupture of the lower hamstring tendon near the back of the knee. Virat Kohli sustained this rare hamstring injury during the IPL 2026 final while playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
The Muscle: The semimembranosus is one of the three main hamstring muscles running down the back of your thigh. It is essential for bending the knee and extending the hip.
Virat Kohli's Dream To 100 International Centuries Still Alive
Virat Kohli is eyeing to break Sachin Tendulkar's 100 century record. The 37-year-old has 85 international tons and Afghanistan was a perfect opportunity for the white-ball talisman to close the gap.
If Virat had missed the England series, then breaking Sachin's record would have been more difficult. However, Virat Kohli fans have recieved a massive boost as Virat now has three more ODIs in his bag to chase Tendulkar's majestic record.
