Virat Kohli realized his 18-year-old dream last year by lifting the IPL 2025 title. Playing for the RCB franchise under the leadership of new captain Rajat Patidar, Kohli lifted the silverware for the first time in his decorated career.

The following year, the legendary Indian batter replicated the feat, albeit this time with a match-winning innings and a ‘Player of the Match’ performance in the final against the Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad.

Undisputedly the greatest batter in the history of the IPL, both Kohli and the RCB franchise have formed one of the most iconic player-team associations in world sport, with the former representing the Bengaluru-based outfit since the tournament's inception in 2008.

However, as with all great sporting journeys, questions about longevity and retirement are inevitable. In that context, RCB CEO Rajesh Menon has now shed light on how much longer Kohli could continue playing in the IPL, offering reassuring news for the franchise's supporters.

Virat Kohli to play for four more IPL seasons, predicts CEO

While speaking with the CNBC TV18, RCB CEO Rajesh Menon praised Virat Kohli for his longevity and loyalty with the franchise. The official added that the franchise is already planning to retain Kohli in some capacity after he takes his retirement from the game.

Menon also dropped an explosive prediction regarding the cricketer’s future as a player with the RCB. When asked up until how long will Kohli keep playing for the franchise, the CEO said that the legendary batter probably has four more years of quality cricket left in him.

Rajesh Menon said “RCB and Virat are different sides of the same coin. He’s been the constant factor for RCB throughout. We’ve not seen him not being part of RCB even if he moves out of his cricketing career. We’ve to figure out that. That said, next three-to-four years, I’m sure he’ll be playing for at least four years.”

Virat Kohli wins it for RCB with match-winning 75*

Taking on Gujarat Titans in the final of the IPL 2026 season at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium last month, Virat Kohli punched out a sizzling 75* off just 42 balls in a chase of 156. Opening the innings, the 37-year-old launched nine boundaries and three huge sixes, including one to seal the deal with five wickets and two overs to spare.

Fittingly bagging the ‘Player of the Match’ award, Kohli lifted the coveted IPL title with his teammates for the second time in succession to add to his trophy cabinet.

Virat Kohli misses Afghanistan series, likely to return for England tour

The former Indian captain was ruled out of the national squad from the ongoing home ODI series against Afghanistan owing to an injury he sustained a couple of weeks ago. The BCCI later named Yashasvi Jaiswal as his replacement for the series.

As of now, recent report indicates that Kohli might attain full recovery and make it to the India squad for the upcoming ODI tour of England.
