On the moving day of the BAN vs WI 2nd Test, Towhid Hridoy has slammed a pivotal century to keep the hosts in the game. His maiden Test century comes as Bangladesh trail West Indies' first-innings total of 356.

However, Hridoy's 171-ball unbeaten 100 is helping Bangladesh reduce the deficit by some distance, as they are already short on one batter after Shadman Islam's unfortunate injury.

Towhid Hridoy smashes maiden Test century vs West Indies

The talented Towhid Hridoy stretched his red-hot form in red-ball cricket with a maiden Test match century.

Coming in to bat at 22 for two, the 25-year-old batter tackled both seam and spin with ease. He stitched fine partnerships with Mushfiqur Rahim and Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

Although wickets kept tumbling at the other end, Hridoy seemed to be batting on a different surface. As the right-hander reached his milestone, Taijul Islam was at the other end.

After completing his milestone, the stylish batter hasn't lost his batting demeanour as he is on 111. Meanwhile, Bangladesh are at 217/7 after 73 overs, trailing by 139 runs.

Bangladesh need Towhid Hridoy to deliver something like Potchefstroom

Notably, a couple of months ago, Towhid Hridoy slammed the highest score by a Bangladesh batter in First-Class cricket, posting 350* off 450 balls against South Africa A in Potchefstroom.

As he broke the record previously held by Tamim Iqbal, the situation mirrored what is happening in the BAN vs WI 2nd Test.

At Sedgars Park, Bangladesh A didn't have a great start to the innings, but batting at four, Hridoy provided stability to the innings. He formed remarkable partnerships with Jaker Ali and Mohammad Saifuddin as the Tigers trailed South Africa's total of 512 runs.

Hridoy’s unbeaten 350 helped Bangladesh A declare the innings at 676/8, though the fixture ended in a draw.

Just like the wonders of Potchefstroom, Bangladesh’s senior side would need a Towhid Hridoy special from the stylish man.
