LSG, RR in talks over a potential four-player trade
According to a report by Cricbuzz, talks are underway between Lucknow and Rajasthan over a potential multi-player swap.
If reports are to be believed, LSG could trade a pacer who had a strong stint last season, along with a spinner.
"The RR management is keen to acquire a pacer who enjoyed a successful stint with LSG last season," the report stated. "A spinner from LSG could also be part of the deal being discussed between the two franchises," it added.
Meanwhile, the Royals might let go of a batter or an all-rounder, or both, in return.
"They (Rajasthan Royals) seem inclined to spare one or two of them: a batter and an all-rounder, or one of the two," it also stated.
Ashwin hints at Sam Curran to be among LSG-RR mega trade
Moreover, former Test specialist Ravi Ashwin, who had three wonderful seasons with the Royals, shared his insights on the speculated trade.
He hinted at Sam Curran, who missed IPL 2026 after being traded to the franchise from CSK, as he shares a great rapport with Tom Moody, LSG's Director of Cricket.
Ashwin also added that Jofra Archer could be paired with an experienced Indian seamer, though he didn't name any.
"Sam Curran and Tom Moody have worked well together for the Oval Invincibles. The men in pink may like to acquire the services of an experienced Indian seamer to partner Jofra," Ashwin tweeted.
So far, LSG, DC, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Chennai Super Kings have been involved in player swaps ahead of the IPL 2027 mini auctions.
The BCCI has set a deadline of November 17 to announce the full list of retained and released players. Meanwhile, the last deadline for any IPL trade is December 9, one week before the auction on December 16, scheduled in Goa.
