Sunrisers Leeds full squad for The Hundred 2026 [Source: X]
The Hundred Men's Competition player auction for season 2026 took place on Thursday in London as teams looked to rebuild their squads after recent overseas investment in the league. Over 1,000 players from 18 countries had registered, and nearly 400 were shortlisted to go under the hammer.
Among the teams that got Indian investment are the Leeds-based Northern Superchargers, who are now renamed to Sunrisers Leeds. They are now owned by the Sun Group, which also owns Sunrisers Hyderabad and Sunrisers Eastern Cape under Kaviya Maran's leadership.
They are the most successful SA20 team with three titles in four seasons and have previously also won the IPL in 2016. As they look to replicate their success in England's The Hundred, below is a look at their 2026 squad and pre-auction signings.
The Hundred Men's 2026: Sunrisers Leeds retentions and direct signings
Following the takeover, they retained the services of the England white-ball skipper Harry Brook and all-rounder Brydon Carse ahead of the auction. Additionally, the Australian T20I skipper Mitchell Marsh was their star direct signing alongside the national teammate, Nathan Ellis, who previously played for the London Spirits.

The Hundred Men's 2026: Sunrisers Leeds' costliest player in the auction
The IPL-linked Sunrisers Leeds headed into the first-ever player auction in The Hundred with the lowest purse among the 8 franchises after their pre-auction signings. They had to spend their money wisely, and despite signings like Ryan Rickelton and Abrar Ahmed, the costliest signing for Leeds was Dan Lawrence for £210,000.
Players bought by Sunrisers Leeds in the auction with role and cost
Having pre-signed four players before the auction, the Leeds-based franchise had room for a maximum of 12 more players. Every franchise had to buy a minimum of 14 and a maximum of 16 players in the squad, including a maximum of four overseas players.
After signing Marsh and Ellis, they further added South Africa's Ryan Rickelton and Pakistan's Abrar Ahmed to the squad as their four overseas players. They concluded the auction with a 15-player roster, covering all bases.

Conclusion:
Despite widespread speculation that IPL-linked franchises would avoid signing any Pakistani players, the Sunrisers proved the reports wrong. They roped in the leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed as their overseas signing for £190,000 to lead the spin department.
Led by Mitchell Marsh, they have a stacked top-order with the likes of Ryan Rickelton and Zak Crawley as their buys. The versatile Harry Brook can bat anywhere in the middle order alongside Dan Lawrence, who recently did well in the SA20 for Paarl Royals.
The bowling attack will be led by the retained pace-bowling duo of Brydon Carse, who can also add runs lower down the order, alongside star Aussie bowler Nathan Ellis. Matthew Potts, 23-year-old Tom Lawes and veteran Benjamin Howell are the other fast bowling options at their disposal.
After building a core group of players, they ended the auction buying Liam Patterson-White, Reece Topley and Edward Barnard to complete their 15-member squad for the season. They ended the day with £8,000 remaining in their purse and room for a player left in their roster.
