Bangladesh Predicted Playing XI vs Pakistan-2nd ODI, 2026 (PC-AFP.com)
Bangladesh played a near-perfect outing in the first ODI of the three-game series against Pakistan, on Wednesday at the Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur, Dhaka. Nahid Rana turned out to be the chief architect for their massive eight-wicket win, after tumbling the Men in Green for 114 runs.
The speedster Nahid Rana bagged his maiden fifer in ODIs, including a furious ball to Salman Ali Agha. He also troubled the visiting batters with his sheer pace. He even clocked a 148.6kph delivery against Faheem Ashraf during his career-best figures in Dhaka. The fast bowler was well backed by skipper Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who took three wickets.
Nevertheless, with the second ODI of the three-game set to begin this Thursday (March 13), here is the Bangladesh playing XI vs Pakistan.
Bangladesh Probable Playing XI vs Pakistan- 2nd ODI
Openers and top order: Saif Hassan, Tanzid Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto
In a small chase of 115 runs, Tanzid Hasan played superbly as he smashed his fourth ODI half-century. Not only did he hit a fifty, but he also remained unbeaten on 69 and finished off the game in the first ODI.
On the other hand, Saif Hassan played a loose stroke off Shaheen Afridi's bowling to get dismissed cheaply. There are talks around Bangladesh replacing him with Soumya Sarkar, who scored 91 in his last ODI match, for the upcoming game, but the team management will persist with Saif Hassan at least for one more game.
The very impressive Najmul Hossain Shanto got a start in the previous game, but threw his wicket away after getting to 27 off 33 balls. He was dismissed when Bangladesh needed six more runs to cross the line. He will look to avoid repeating his mistake in this series.
Middle Order and All-Rounders: Litton Das, Towhid Hridoy, Afif Hossain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz
Litton Das came out to bat for a brief time, scoring three runs off six balls. However, the wicketkeeper-batter was ridiculously brilliant behind the stumps. He took four catches and also assisted his captain with fielding changes.
Towhid Hridoy and Afif Hossain did not get any time to bat in the first ODI, but the middle-order will surely get their opportunities to prove their mettle in the remainder of the series.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz was the most economical bowler for Bangladesh, returning with 3/29 in his 10 overs. The quality off-spinner snapped wickets of Abdul Samad, Hussain Talat and Shaheen Afridi as Pakistan were bowled out for a record 114 runs. It makes him one of the most important players in Bangladesh likely playing XI Vs Pakistan.
Bowlers: Rishad Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Nahid Rana
Nahid Rana was the hero as Bangladesh reduced Pakistan to their lowest score against them. The fast bowler was impeccable with his lines and lengths, as he never allowed the Pakistan batters to get on the front foot and got their wickets with short-pitched stuff. Interestingly, he took all of the first five wickets, taking those scalps in his first five overs, making him the first name on the team sheet for Bangladesh likely playing XI Vs Pakistan.
Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman took one wicket apiece, as it was Nahid Rana's day in the first ODI. However, the pace duo will need their time to shine in the remainder of the series. Meanwhile, Rishad Hossain, who has played many times against Pakistani batters in the PSL, didn't get enough chance in the first game, but he would love to prove himself after being named in the Bangladesh likely playing XI Vs Pakistan.
