The BCCI has officially announced the schedule for season 19 of the IPL, and it is set to begin from March 28, between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Season 18 ended RCB’s wait to finally lift the title, with their win over the Punjab Kings in the final. Now, the Delhi Capitals is the only team alongside PBKS left to get their hands on the coveted trophy among the teams around since the inaugural season of 2008.
Previously, they played one final in 2020, suffering defeat at the hands of the Mumbai Indians. Apart from the solitary final, they have finished in the top-4 in four other seasons. Last season, they started off with some really entertaining cricket, getting results in their favour before going on a losing streak and eventually finished just outside the playoff spots at 5.
As they begin their 2026 campaign with an encounter against the Lucknow Super Giants on April 1 in Lucknow, below is their full schedule for the season.
Delhi Capitals Schedule for IPL 2026:
The Capitals start their tournament away from home in Lucknow on April 1. The first home game for them will be against the five-time champions, the Mumbai Indians, on April 4, which will be an afternoon fixture.
As of now, the schedule for only the first phase, i.e., 20 matches, is announced, and DC will play four matches in this period.

Delhi Capitals 2026 auction review:
In pursuit of their maiden title, the Capital had most bases covered after the mega auction ahead of 2025. T20 World Cup winner, Axar Patel was announced as the new captain after Rishabh Pant went into the auction and subsequently was swooped up by the Lucknow Super Giants.
In the mini-auction for IPL 2026, their agenda was to fine-tune a rather settled unit to bid for the playoff spot once again. They mainly added experience in the team with the inclusion of two South Africans, who did well in the recent ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, David Miller and Lungi Ngidi, to join Tristan Stubbs in the camp.
After Faf du Plessis called time on his IPL career, Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka and England’s Ben Duckett were the chosen ones to fill in for the role, and Prithvi Shaw made his return to the league after going unsold last time around. The New Zealand fast bowler, who played the 2025 final with PBKS, Kyle Jamieson, was another base price buy as Mitchell Starc’s backup.
Apart from all of these names, the biggest buy of them all for the Capitals was Auqib Nabi. After being listed at a 30 Lakh base price, he found himself in high demand and was eventually bought by DC for a life-changing sum of 8.4 crore INR. The bowler will have a golden opportunity to impress the selectors and break down the doors for the Indian team.
Among notable departures from the squad were Faf du Plessis, Jake Fraser-McGurk and Mohit Sharma. Sediqullah Atal was also released, while Donavan Ferreria returned to the Rajasthan Royals camp in a trade deal.
Delhi Capitals squad for IPL 2026:
Axar Patel, Nitish Rana, Abishek Porel, Ajay Mandal, Ashutosh Sharma, Dushmantha Chameera, Karun Nair, KL Rahul, Kuldeep Yadav, Madhav Tiwari, Mitchell Starc, Sameer Rizvi, T Natarajan, Tripurana Vijay, Tristan Stubbs, Vipraj Nigam, Mukesh Kumar, David Miller, Ben Duckett, Auqib Nabi, Pathum Nissanka, Lungi Ngidi, Sahil Parikh, Prithvi Shaw, Kyle Jamieson.
