Sandeep Lamichhane replaces Rohit Paudel as Nepal captain
Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has appointed Sandeep Lamichhane as the new captain of the Nepal ODI team. The senior spinner will replace batting all-rounder Rohit Paudel to return to ODI captaincy after a gap of four years.
The cricket board also named Nepal’s 14-player squad for the upcoming 2026 ACC Men’s Premier Cup in Malaysia. Lamichhane will be leading the side in the tournament, with Paudel also finding a place in the team.
Jason Roy replaces Finn Allen in Glasgow Cosmic for ETPL 2026
Former England opener Jason Roy has been roped in by the Glasgow Cosmic franchise for the upcoming inaugural ETPL 2026 season. The cricketer was brought in as an official replacement of explosive New Zealand opener Finn Allen, considering the latter has to sit out of the tournament, as per an exclusive CREX report.

The ICC has unveiled nominations for the ICC Player of the Month award for the month of July 2026. England captain Harry Brook, Bangladesh cricketer Tanzid Hasan and West Indies all-rounder Justin Greaves were selected under the men’s category.
In women’s cricket, Nat Sciver-Brunt made it to the list for her World Cup heroics, with West Indies all-rounder Hayley Matthews and Sri Lanka’s Harshitha Samarawickrama also joining the English skipper.
India issues fitness update for Shubman Gill
The Indian team management has issued a fitness update on captain Shubman Gill ahead of the series-opening first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle.
India’s spin bowling coach Sairaj Bahutule hinted that Gill will play the first Test, as the cricketer is already making good progress from the finger injury he sustained a few days ago.
It is worth noting that Gill also returned to the field on the final day of India’s three-day warm-up match against SLC XI in Colombo.
Jay Gohil replaces Sarfaraz Khan in West Zone for Duleep Trophy 2026
Sarfaraz Khan has opted out of the upcoming Duleep Trophy 2026 season, considering the Mumbai run machine has been selected in the Team India squad for the upcoming two-match Test series in Sri Lanka.
According to reports, Jay Gohil has been added to the West Zone squad as Sarfaraz Khan's replacement.
