Shreyas Iyer's sister deletes Instagram video [Source: Instagram/ShrestaIyer]
Shresta Iyer, sister of Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer, has deleted her Instagram video after receiving flak from KKR fans. The video in contention featured Shresta jokingly dancing and bragging about Punjab Kings’ ‘charitable’ nature, after its recent match against the KKR franchise got washed out due to rains.
Shortly after posting the video earlier this week, Shresta was subjected to some intense trolling from fans, particularly that of KKR on social media. The social media influencer even issued a detailed clarification over her light-hearted post, claiming that she did not intend to disrespect anyone.
Shresta Iyer takes down ‘misunderstood’ video
Shresta Iyer took to her Instagram account and confirmed that she has deleted a video where she and her friends can be seen trolling the KKR franchise for walking away with a point despite getting rocked early by the Punjab Kings.

Writing on her Instagram story, Shresta wrote “I’ve decided to take down my recent video as it seems it was misunderstood by some. It was meant to be light-hearted banter, but I respect that not everyone saw it that way.”
The social media influencer also claimed that she has been receiving many threatening and negative messages from fans off late, and expressed that her intention was never to harm or disrespect anyone.
Urging fans to be “more understanding”, Shreyas Iyer's sister added “However, it’s been quite upsetting to receive not just negativity, but also a few threat messages over it. That’s something I didn’t expect, especially for something that was never intended to harm anyone. I’m not removing the video because I believe I did something wrong, but because I respect my brother and his team, and I don’t want this space to turn into one filled with negativity. Let’s try to be a little kinder and more understanding with each other.”
What did Shresta Iyer said after KKR vs PBKS no-result?
Hosts KKR, batting first at the Eden Gardens on April 6 in match number 12 of the IPL 2026 season against Punjab Kings, were rocked early by visiting paceman Xavier Bartlett. The team lost two wickets inside the first two overs of the match to reach a precarious 25-2 in 3.4 overs before rains halted play at the venue.
Shortly after match officials called off the match and forced both sides to share the two points on offer, Shresta Iyer took to her Instagram account and shared a mock video at the expense of the hosts.
In the video, she can be seen bragging about Punjab Kings’ charitable nature by claiming that they ‘gifted one point’ to KKR. Speaking in Punjabi, she said “Saade Punjabiyan da dil vadda hunda hai, lo de ditta ek point.”
