Shreyas Iyer's sister issues clarification on online troll [Source: Instagram/ShrestaIyer]
Punjab Kings rose to the top of the IPL 2026 points table following their no-result against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in match number 12 of the tournament. Under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer, the Punjab Kings franchise attained early command over hosts at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata before rains played spoilsport.
The no-result outcome forced both teams to share a point each, as KKR continues to remain winless on the 10-team standings.
After the washout, Shresta Iyer, sister of Punjab Kings captain Shreyas, took to her social media account and made a light-hearted jibe over the three-time IPL winning side. Shresta’s harmless post did not seem to have gone down well with a section of KKR fans, as she was subjected to some intense online trolling on her Instagram account.
The social media influencer has now issued clarification over her post, claiming that she did not mean to disrespect anyone.
Shresta Iyer urges KKR fans to take trolling ‘sportingly’
Shresta Iyer, who trolled the KKR franchise for getting a ‘charitable point’ after the no-result against Punjab Kings, has been subjected to some intense trolling in the comments section of her harmless Instagram post.

The social media influencer has now clarified her stance, claiming that she was only supporting her brother Shreyas Iyer, and did not mean to disrespect anyone. She also urged KKR fans to take such sly digs and jokes “sportingly” instead of responding with aggression.
Taking to her Instagram story, Shresta Iyer wrote: “Guys, I don't understand why the hatred is being spread. It's just a game. The videos are just for fun, and I am here to support my brother. I will continue to do that. No hate for any team, it's just a game. Everyone should take it sportingly. I understand aggression. I wasn't trolling anybody. It was my way of celebration, and I am going to continue doing that. I am just here to say no hate for anybody. Only love is a game. We all should have fun. The rivalry should show, no matter what. There were no personal attacks, just chill. Peace out, guys.”
What did Shresta Iyer said after KKR vs PBKS no-result?
Shortly after match officials called off the KKR vs Punjab Kings clash at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on April 6, Shresta Iyer took to her Instagram account and shared a hilarious video at the expense of the hosts.
In the video, she can be seen jokingly bragging about Punjab Kings’ charitable nature, as they “gifted one point” to KKR despite holding match advantage.
Speaking in Punjabi, Shresta Iyer said “Saade Punjabiyan da dil vadda hunda hai, lo de ditta ek point.”
KKR vs PBKS: As it happened
KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and opted to bat first despite heavy rain forecast at the Eden Gardens. On a trail of successive defeats in the IPL 2026 season, KKR lost opener Finn Allen as well as Cameron Green at number three both inside the first two overs of the match to Punjab Kings new ball paceman Xavier Bartlett.
When KKR reached a troublesome 25-2 in 3.4 overs, rains halted play and both sides were forced to share a point each.
As of now, the Punjab Kings franchise is occupying the top spot on the IPL 2026 points table, while winless KKR is ranked eighth with two defeats and a no-result from three matches.
