The stage is set for a riveting battle as hosts KKR will aim to turn their fortunes against Rishabh Pant’s LSG at the Eden Gardens. Apart from CSK, KKR is the only IPL side not to win a single game this season; however, they do have a point on the board, thanks to the rain-washed-out match vs PBKS.
KKR have been poor this season, with captain Ajinkya Rahane under immense scrutiny. Under his guidance, the team has failed to deliver the goods, but the management would hope that the side can turn the tables and kick-start their IPL campaign with a win over LSG.
On the other side, LSG have played two matches, and have won one and lost as many. The side certainly has the most exciting crop of Indian bowlers, and they'll be eager to win back-to-back in the ongoing IPL 2026.

LSG won the toss and keeping in mind the gloomy weather, skipper Rishabh Pant decided to bowl first. Chasing might become easier as the game progresses, and interestingly, the side has gone in unchanged.
KKR have made one tactical change, with Blessing Muzarabani getting dropped, and Sunil Narine coming in. Narine, apart from his bowling can provide batting depth, and hence, he comes into the lineup.
Meanwhile, Varun Chakaravarthy is still injured and will miss back-to-back IPL matches.
KKR have strengthened their batting department, but in the process, have weakened their bowling in the absence of Muzarabani.

Rishabh Pant: "We are looking to bowl first. We want to put opposition into bat because we have a good bowling attack.
[On the last match's win] We feel definitely victory adds to the atmosphere of this team. Having that intent is important. When you see all that coming together, it feels good.
[Changes?] We are playing with the same team. No changes for us.
Ajinkya Rahane: "(What would KKR have done?) We wanted to bowl as well.
(On the decision at the toss in the last match) That match did not get over, so you never know.
(Team news) Sunil (Narine) comes in for Blessing (Muzarabani). Varun (Chakaravarthy) is still recovering from his hand injury.
(On Cameron Green being available to bowl) When he is allowed to bowl, the combination gets easy. It allows Rovman Powell to get in and we get an extra bowler with us.
