After Team India lifted their third T20 World Cup trophy, beating New Zealand in the final, fans responded with an outpouring of love and celebration for the new world champions. Days passed on, but the excitement remained the same as the entire nation is still enjoying the madness in the air.

Ending the tournament on a high, the champions began returning home, but Shivam Dube quietly slipped away from the spotlight and chose a train journey. They boarded the train from Ahmedabad to Borivali, and fans didn’t even recognize him.

Shivam Dube’s low-key train escape turns heads

Before Team India lifted the prestigious T20 World Cup 2026 trophy, the cricket world saw no instances of defending the title, but the Men in Blue scripted history. Throughout the campaign, they tasted the glory and had some concerns too, but they unleashed their best version when it mattered the most. Throughout the tournament, Shivam Dube remained the x-factor of the side.

He may not have played some big innings, but those crucial and fiery knocks made a massive impact in Team India’s triumph. While the returning champions received grand welcomes across the nation, Shivam Dube quietly avoided the spotlight and surprised everyone with an unexpected journey home.

After the triumph in Ahmedabad, Shivam Dube boarded a 5 AM train to Borivali. Speaking to Express Sports, he revealed that, as there was no flight available, he boarded the train with his wife and a friend.

“There was no flight available, so I decided to take a train from Ahmedabad early in the morning to Mumbai. We could have gone by road, but the train was faster,” he said.

In India, where fans treat cricketers like family, they can recognize their stars in seconds with the slightest hint. But Dube fooled them as effortlessly as he did on the field. With a cap, mask, and a full sleeve jersey, he escaped attention safely.

“I wore a cap, mask, and a full sleeve jersey to cover myself so nobody could recognise me,” he added.

Shivam Dube’s wife pulls a clever trick

Even Shivam Dube escaped fans’ attention; it was tough to escape the TC, but his wife Anjum Khan played another smart move. They boarded a 3rd AC train where the Indian star moved to the upper berth to avoid any unwanted situation.

When the TC came and asked, “Ye Shivam Dube Kon hain? Wo cricketer?”, Dube’s wife pulled off a massive trick. She replied, “Nahi nahi, wo yaha kyon aayega.”

It turned out to be successful as the TC moved forward, and Shivam Dube sighed in relief and reached his home safely. Fans on that train must be heartbroken as they missed the chance of meeting the player just by bad luck.

Shivam Dube stays Team India’s go-to boost in crunch moments

Despite the team filled with match-winners, a team always needs a clutch player in crunch moments, and for Team India, it's Shivam Dube. Whether Hardik Pandya called clutch god, Shivam Dube’s firepower can’t be ignored. He has consistently served as the X-factor India needed on the big stage.

After the group stage, when the Men in Blue struggled a bit in the Super Eight stage, Dube played some of the explosive knocks. Even in the final match against New Zealand, he smashed a fiery unbeaten 26 off just eight balls, striking at a staggering rate of 325.00

In eight innings, he scored 235 runs with a strike rate of 169.06. He may not have turned heads with some explosive hundreds, but those meaningful contributions pulled Team India closer to their third T20 World Cup trophy.
