The West Indies are ninth in the WTC points table, but the Men in Maroon have a chance to redeem themselves as Cricket West Indies revealed their blockbuster home season, with several high-profile sides touring the Caribbean Island for riveting series.

The West Indian side has not fared well in red-ball cricket in recent years, but the management would hope the team can find its best form as the home season looms. Multiple sides will visit the Caribbean country for a multi-format series, which would certainly test the West Indies’ skills and endurance at home.

Pakistan amongst top nations set to tour West Indies

On Thursday, May 28, the home season was announced by the Cricket West Indies board, and teams like Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and Pakistan will tour the Windies for a multi-format series. The Sri Lankan side will be the first team to visit the West Indian shores, next month, followed by the Kiwis, and the Pakistan side.

Interestingly, the Sri Lankan series will comprise of T20Is, ODIs, and Test matches, while the New Zealand games will only have ODIs, and Pakistan will tour the Caribbean Islands for only Test matches.

The Test matches against Sri Lanka, and Pakistan will be a part of the WTC cycle as the hosts aim to climb the WTC points table.

Guyana was originally expected to host the five ODIs against New Zealand, but "logistical challenges" forced a change.

West Indies' trouble in recent years

In recent years, the West Indies cricket standards have fallen across formats. The team had a strong squad in the T20 World Cup 2026, but they couldn’t reach the semifinals. T20 cricket is their best format, but they have failed to deliver the goods.

In red-ball cricket, things are even worse as the side languishes at the bottom of the table, and have 0 wins in 7 matches, and they are the only side not to have registered a single win this campaign.

Fresh from playing in the IPL and other T20 leagues, the Men in Maroon will be eager to redeem themselves as the new home season kicks-off, next month.
