Virat Kohli headed to IPL 2026 in terrific form as RCB’s best player looked in the groove, and wanted to prove his mettle in the T20 format once again. Throughout the ongoing campaign, Kohli has played his par in helping RCB reach the playoffs as he finished as one of the leading run-getters in the league stage.

He had four fifties and a solitary hundred after the league stage, and the veteran RCB batter was expected to deliver the goods in the IPL 2026 Qualifier 1 against the Gujarat Titans. Just as everyone predicted, Kohli looked in imperious touch against the Titans, and created yet another IPL record.

Virat Kohli leaves behind KL Rahul to attain world record

With the surface being tricky and the opposition bowlers breathing fire, Kohli decided to unleash his best version as he took the attack to Kagiso Rabada, Mohammed Siraj, and Jason Holder. The batter played some gorgeous strokes and scored a quickfire 43 off 25 before Holder had the last laugh.

In the course of yet another brilliant knock this season, Kohli attained a world record to leave KL Rahul behind. He became the first player in IPL history to score 600+ runs in four consecutive editions (2023-2026).

Kohli, alongside KL Rahul held the joint record (amongst Indians), as the DC opener had slammed 600-plus runs in 2020, 2021, and 2022 IPL campaigns.
