Matt Henry ruled out of NZ vs IRE Test
New Zealand fast bowler Matt Henry was ruled out of his team’s playing XI against Ireland in Belfast. As per an update from NZC, the speedster is recovering from a low-grade left hamstring strain.
Henry will now be joining fellow fast bowlers Will O’Rourke and Kyle Jamieson in London in a bid to prepare for New Zealand’s upcoming three-match away Test series against England.
Rachin Ravindra, Tom Blundell plunder twin tons vs Ireland
New Zealand middle-order batters Rachin Ravindra and Tom Blundell plundered identical centuries against Ireland on Day 1 of their one-off Test in Belfast. Forming forces at 86-4 within the opening session of the day, the two cricketers forged a calculated 217-run partnership for the fifth wicket to take the visitors past the 300-run mark.
Ravindra made 121 off 194 balls with 11 fours and four sixes before he was dismissed by Harry Tector.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi notches up huge IPL record
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi soared past legendary West Indies opener and ex-RCB cricketer Chris Gayle for a huge six-hitting record through his match-winning innings against the SRH in the IPL 2026 eliminator. Launching 12 sixes in his innings, Sooryavanshi has now extended his IPL 2026 tally to 65 maximums, thus becoming the leading six-hitter by any batter in a single edition of the tournament.
Previously, Gayle struck 59 sixes for the RCB franchise way back in IPL 2012 over a decade ago.
Rajasthan Royals knocks SRH out of IPL 2026
Rajasthan Royals opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi blasted a record-shattering 97 off just 29 balls with five boundaries and 12 sixes against the SRH in the Eliminator match of the IPL 2026 season in New Chandigarh. Sooryavanshi’s innings helped the Royals mount 243-8 in 20 overs, before bowlers Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger and Ravindra Jadeja bundled out the SRH for just 196.
With the outcome, the SRH franchise has been eliminated from the IPL 2026 season.
CSK unveil plan for MS Dhoni
Former CSK captain MS Dhoni missed the entire IPL 2026 season owing to his injury concern. Despite the cricketer’s absence, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan believes that Dhoni will come back to play for the franchise next year in IPL 2027.
Viswanathan said “My understanding is that he will come back next season. We have not spoken to him about this, but we hope he will come back.” According to him, Dhoni will conclude his IPL career with a match in Chennai.
